Sleek look and easy to install!
It was about time I changed my thermostat to a smart one because I travel quite a bit and it helps to control it while away or even when you are in bed and you can change it from your Alexa app. It arrived quickly and was packaged well and installation was easy. I bought 2 for both my ACs and they both work great. I love the white sleek design. Great value for a great smart thermostat. Highly recommend.

Broken and or Defective
Broken unit: let me explain!I purchased this Amazon certified thermostat as it was cheaper of a new one. I thought, why not try it.I am currently in the process of building my home into a smart home and really enjoy the ease of use on Amazon products.I installed the Honeywell C wire adapter onto my furnace. Then installed the thermostat onto the wall by following Amazonâs thorough steps in the Alexa app.Upon plugging the thermostat into the wall my furnace started automatically (which is a good sign as the circuit was complete), but the thermostat did not say âsetâ. Indicating it wasnât getting power, or so a form said.I read multiple forms, used Alexaâs FAQ section while setting up, watched countless videos⦠nothing.Then, I contacted amazon customer support and provided the serial number of the certified unit. They were unable to help but referred me to Resideo smart thermostat support lineI spoke with an agent and we problem solved the unit. Using a multimeter to check power (24-30V) between the R wire and all other wires. I had correct voltage both on the furnace and on the wall where the thermostat was connected.We concluded that the unit was receiving power thus the furnace starting but that the display was defective.I was unable to complete set up. I had to re-wire the old unit back to the furnace and the wall. Let me say that was awful doing it twice or forward and backwards for a lack of better words.I am returning the unit and purchasing a brand new one. I really hope this doesnât happen again.

As good as the new one that I bought previously
Iâd been holding off on buying this thermostat for quite some time based on reviews and even considered other pricier brands for the same reason but I finally decided to give it a try because Iâm sick of having to go over to the thermostat and manually adjust it (first world problem right?)I am so pleased with my decision that immediately after installing it, I bought this renewed unit to replace our second thermostat upstairs.Installation was easy and took about 15-20 minutes to install and set up in the app. The unit mounts with 3 screws and anchors, a small screwdriver tool and an optional wall plate. A word of advice – use a better screwdriver because the included tool isnât great. Youâll also need a drill with a 3/8â bit to assist with the wall anchors.This renewed unit is just as good as the new one I purchased at half the cost! It came with new mounting hardware and when comparing side by side, I could not tell you which one was which. Iâd absolutely make the same decision to purchase the renewed unit again.Some of the reviews Iâd read in the past mentioned that people had trouble with the app recognizing two thermostats, that was not the case at all with me. It was extremely easy to differentiate in the app and just as easy to control each one.Another review that made me worry about buying this thermostat was that you couldnât simply tell your Alexa device to adjust the temperature, and that you had to open the app to make adjustments. This problem must have been resolved or a solitary issue because ours works just fine with voice commands.This thermostat does not offer a sensor option to monitor a particular room or area, so if youâre looking for that, you may need to look at other options.As far as smart settings, you have two options. Alexa can learn your routines and track your phoneâs location to adjust the temperatures accordingly when youâre home or away. This works best when everyone in the household connects to the app and consents to tracking. It will even adjust the temperature to your desired settings when youâre within a certain range of your home.If this option isnât for you, it will allow you to set schedules and desired temperature ranges throughout each day of the week. But youâre still able to log into the app and make adjustments when needed.
