A Quality upgrade to the echo show series of Amazon Alexa products
I bought this product to replace an echo show that Iâve had for nearly 7 years. The old units display with occasionally flicker and I knew it was time for a new one. I am thoroughly pleased with the echo show 8. First off, the increased display size is a welcome change to my aging eyes. It is easier to see and the touchscreen easier to use. I used the option to link the device to my Amazon account, which made set up a breeze when the unit arrived. The sound quality is improved over previous versions. I also ordered the stand that comes with the USB-C port, which is extremely convenient. I am thoroughly pleased with the echo show 8. If there is a drawback, it is that I see more advertisements then I would like. I have the photo display option selected in my settings, and I do not see my photos near as often as I did on my old device. Other than that, I am extremely pleased with the performance of this product. I recommend it.

Nice gift to give.
First of all I’m am a Alexa fanatic. I tell everyone about them and all the lovely features. I gave this Alexa as a house warming gift for my cousin and he loved it. It’s very easy to use and has lots of different things to help you throughout the day. The screen is a nice size and the sound is nice and loud. The price wasn’t too bad either. I love the alexa and so far have lifted quite a few to different family members. As well as told them about several of the features and how if you have multiple of these you can use them as an intercom system throughout your home like I do. Especially since I have a few different types of Alexa, Alexa add-ons and tvs from their brand. So I if I “announce” something it rings everywhere. Also so many rountines you can set individually for each person and dont get me started on hownu can sync all the speakers together and the music you play from there will play everywhere if you request to do so. I love Alexa so much I call her my sister girl lol. I wish I could be some sort of ambassador for them.

Malfunctioning Display Problem
 Riddle: What do you call an “Echo Show 8” when its display isn’t working? -You call it simply an “expensive Echo 8”!I’ve had the display on my new Show 8 (gen. 3) stop working twice in the 3 weeks I’ve owned and used it. Since this is not my first Echo Show (I’ve owned 5 of them over the last 4 years, including the 3 I still have now), and I know this display problem is not normal. A reboot (unplugging then replugging in the electrical power) restored the display the first time. This second occurrence of the problem left me concerned: how often can I expect this issue to resurface, and does it just indicate a hardware defect in my unit? So I made the accompanying video so that you could see what I’m referring to.It turns out that telling Alexa to “Turn Off display” while it’s having this malfunction (while the display is black and the Display is non-responsive but while the device still responds audibly) And then saying “Alexa” (the wake word) restored the display and its responsiveness (to touch and verbal commands).But I don’t think that’s a permanent fix.Amazon customer support did advise toggling off the Auto Sleep setting in the device. This might be an acknowledgement of a software bug in that feature, but if it is, it’s not afflicting my other Show (a current generation Show 10) that’s using Auto Sleep.Except for the above, I do like my third generation Show 8 for the quality of its sound, responsiveness, overall utility (alarms, podcast-listening, news briefs, clock, timers, display of weather conditions, calendar events, home automation of smart lights and smart plugs for fans/+, hours and phone numbers of local retailers, etc.), and the display – when it’s functioning properly!My Show 8 (gen. 3) did have one other problem during my first 3 weeks of using it: Increasingly, I needed to repeat the wake word (“Alexa”) to get the Show 8’s attention. So I positioned my other Show 8 (gen. 1) near it on the same table and asked them both the same question – first the new “gen. 3” Show 8, then the “gen 1” Show 8 (which uses “Echo” as it’s wake word). Then I listened to the Voice Activity in the Alexa app on my phone. There was considerable Distortion in the new “gen. 3” Show 8’s recording, while the recording of the old (gen. 1) was remarkably clear. The short story is that Amazon customer support recommended the obligatory reboot, and that “fixed” it – for now, at least. (There was a theory that there may have been an external cause, but my testing has been unable to find evidence of that.)

Love My Echo Show 8 (3rd Gen) !!!
I Love my Echo Show 8 (3rd Gen)! It was easy to set up. Just the right size, not too big or small. Clear picture and has a very strong sound (speakers) when playing music and/or videos and works will with my other devices (cameras etc).

Great sound and picture
Setup and connection were simple but Alexa installation and setup with Ring door bell was a little complicated and worked only for a week but have not debugged it to fix it. Sound is amazing and has good bass a treble. Setting up with Spotify was not straightforward and although sometimes I can control Spotify from iPhone 15, there is no option specifically for Spotify in any menus. Hope this gets fixed in future software upgrade.

Very Practical and Fun
Great product, very useful and fun. We have it on the kitchen counter in a corner, handy but not in the way. We use it for playing music and to get recipes. Having the larger screen is very helpful for recipes. When it plays music the song words are displayed, very fun. Easy to find desired music with Amazon Prime. Useful for placing orders. It displays interesting picture as well and you can load your own pictures. This is a terrific thing. It is also a handy times. This is much better than the vocal only Alexa Echo Dot. Ya tenia la segunda generación, esta que es la tercera Gen., mejora el sonido y la percibo mas rapida que la anterior, en lo demas es igual, bastante buen dispositivo este Echo Show 8.En las fotos se puede observar que puedes acceder a Youtube y a netflix con el comando de Alexa âpon Youtubeâ al igual que netflix.Como ounto negativo, diria que la pantalla no es amoled, creo XD. Pero estabdo en mi cuarto en la noche con todo apagado, no molesta su brillo de pantalla, su brillo automático funciona bastante bien!!

Bien a secas. Es un dispositivo Alexa que hace lo que ya sabes que hace. Si tienes un ecosistema Alexa para sacarle jugo está bien. En casa tengo 3 Alexas ahora y mi único problema es que, si quieres que las 3 puedan oÃr música diferente, debes pagar el plan familiar de Amazon Misic Unlimited, de lo contrario no podrás con ningún otro servicio (terminé pagando Amazon Music más mi Spotify). La bocina, si la ubicas en un buen lugar suena bien, a secas. Tengo un Apple HomePod mini y suena mejor la verdadâ¦
