These wi-fi switches are great but……
I have a few of these switches already that are operational with no issues. For some reason, I could not get these to work or locate my wi-fi system to save my life. There is a notice on the listing to ensure you buy the correct switch because these require the extra wire that is required to allow it to locate already installed switches and then install them automatically. It states these get a lot of returns. Well, these would not work no matter what I did and they were installed correctly. I ended up doing what they warned me about. I had to return them. I don’t think they were defective. They just didn’t want to cooperate with my wi-fi network. I had added a mesh addition after I installed the ones that do work so that may have been part of the issue. They weren’t that important to me to deal with the problem at the time

X-Wave Light Switch Works Well
This is a dimmable z-wave switch. I wanted just a regular z-wave switch but could not locate one for a better price than this dimmable one. Easy to install as I replace existing z-wave switch that had gone out. Working great!

Doesn’t work well with LEDs or Homey Pro
I have several Zwave and wifi dimmer switches and this one was probably the least functional. Maybe I got a dud, or maybe it works with some light bulbs, but I tried it with two different dimmable LED bulbs and it would not dim at all – trying to dim just made the light flicker at full brightness. Also, I connected it to my Homey Pro hub, which has had no problems with other devices, and half the time I try to control it via the hub it freezes and needs to be hard reset.I swapped it out for a Zooz dimmer from another room and that one works perfectly, so I know the problem is not the bulbs or the wiring. I bought this one because I like the toggle switch form factor, but this barely functions better than a basic light switch so it’s going back.

Great product, easy to install and add to Smart Things.
We are slowing installing these throughout our new home. Every time we think we are finished, we think of another task or timer or scene that makes or lives easier. The written instructions are so in, including the 3 way add-on product which I thought would be difficult. The biggest challenge is the different ways existing wiring might be installed. Take your time, take pictures of wiring before pulling old switches and follow the instructions. One thing to keep in mind, use a tester to verify the box is of before touching wiring. We found several gang boxes that had multiple live circuits so it took two different breakers to kill the entire box.

Nice looking but missing a feature
Nice looking but would be much nicer if they could figure out how to have the toggle glow blue to match the actual ZWave switch. Looks cheap to spend tons of $$ automating only to have switches not match.

A great addition to a Z-wave smart home
I’ve installed several of these switches in my Smart Home setup, which is based around a Ring home security system. Overall, these aren’t too difficult to install – if you’re comfortable wiring switches, and are replacing an existing switch, it’s a snap. Adding them to you smart home system will vary based on your system, but I found that Ring quickly recognized these switches.Read the instructions closely and you shouldn’t have an issues. The “light up” switch toggle is a nice feature for finding the switches in the dark. I have mine set to only light up when the switch is off, so it’s also a quick was to check the status for outside light switches.

Very limited and somewhat short lifespan
This is likely to be the last set of GE Zwave switches I buy. I love the ZWave technology and GE was one of the few companies that had zwave 3-way switches when I first started upgrading my smarthome. Now there are so many more options, many of which don’t require purchasing a dummy switch in addition to the main. The switches are known to burn out after only about 2 years. I’m buying them because when they work, they work well. Hopefully these were from a good batch and stand the test of time and use.

Easy to Install with SmartThings
GE Enbrighton is the easiest switch to install with SmartThings. It is a reduced size and wiring is interchangeable. It made the install / replacement very easy.
