Very easy to setup and equally easy to upgrade storage
PLUSES: Connecting my S340 solar powered Camera and E340 Doorbell to the Homebase 3 was simply simple even for this inexperienced senior citizen. Using the eufy app made it easy. The feature that allows storage expansion was equally simple. I ordered an SSD from Amazon for a very fair price and it dropped right into the slot and secured easily with the provided screws. I recommend a Solid State Drive rather than a mechanical spinning drive. The A/C wall wart power adapter has a sufficiently long enough power cord that I could easily hide the HB3 on the top shelf of a bookcase. Once it’s installed, I don’t see any need to physically access it very often. It appears to be of rather high quality construction.MINUSES: None of any major consequence.. Just the need to buy a Hard Drive for additional storage and A.I. facial recognition still has room for some improvement.

Great system with easy install
Great system and clarity. This covers two points of entry and the entire backyard using three eufy solo S3 cameras. Good WiFi is a must. My only gripe with the system is the speed of identification 5-8 seconds and you can’t quickly transition from the video recording to live feed so you can talk to them. Is a great value for what you spend and you can set up and forget about the system. Battery life is a non-issue with the solar recharging on the cameras. I like the fact that I can upgrade the memory on the home base unit and there’s no monthly fees which is another reason why I chose this system. Overall great security system buy but due to that lack of quick change from video recording to live feed I have this as a 4 stars but I think it should really be at a 4.5 stars.

Local storage for your videos and good addition to the cameras.
It might look like a waste of money but the HomeBase does what it needs to do. If you have several cameras you’re going by to need storage space. Keeps the videos local and doesn’t store it in the cloud, and all you can do is add a HD or a flash drive to store videos. Easy to add to your Eufy app and voila.

Fancy DVR nothing more.
I started off with one Eufy camera and soon after purchased a few more. Eufy showcased the Homebase 3 as the hub to make it all complete to unlock Ai features and do a lot more so I went with it. Let me start off with the good. Setup was quick you can say, you do need to Ethernet setup first by connecting to your router but once it’s done you can connect to WiFi and move it someone else. The recognition of humans and other motions were definitely better then without. It also gave you the ability to mark things not correct to help the Ai train I guess. I did put a 500Gb hard drive in and I was happy to start seeing 30 plus days of recordings all local. Security reports were cool and the face recognition and cross tracking was actually pretty neat!However on to the cons. The Ai in my opinion is nothing more then advanced motion detection you’d see in a standard security camera kit. The Ai is hit or miss and will not 100% detect faces or even humans for that matter. If the object is moving fast the Ai will not have the ability to recognize it to record. I certainly wouldn’t rely on it to open my doors solely on trying to recognize my face.**As of today writing this however my HB3 has failed to work. Status light not working and troubleshooting did not help. I was told it’s bricked due to either overheating or failed firmware update. So I’ve now lost 30 days of recordings and all the Ai training I’ve built on my family members. So basically a $150 paperweight now.

Compre este producto para tener un almacenamiento externo de los videos de seguridad de grabación continua pues tengo varias cámaras de la misma marca, sin embargo hay 2 problemas, el primero es que pese a que la página oficial de EUFY marca que las cámaras que tengo son totalmente compatibles con esta HomeBase 3, la realidad es que no he logrado hacer que los videos se guarden en el disco duro de la base… y el otro problema (parte de lo mismo) es que he contactado a Eufy directamente para averiguar la situación, me han pedido información, videos, capturas y demás para poder comprobar la configuración y el estado tanto de la base como de las cámaras… y tras varios dias de correos me han pedido de 2 a 3 días hábiles para que los ingenieros le den un vistazo a todo lo que les envié para tratar de resolver el asunto… pero a final de cuenas a penas esta pasando el tiempo requerido y al día de hoy no he podido hacer funcionar la base como se supone funcionaría, así que de momento la dejo con esta calificación porque no cumple lo que el producto anuncia, si se resuelve entonces cambiaré la calificación, de lo contrario regresaré el producto y dejaré la calificación actual.

I like that this is part of a larger ecosystem and like that i can add other camera’s to it. I found it easy to setup, but till I dug deeper I assumed it worked only on wifi, but found it can use ethernet as well. I set it up to plug into one of my mesh router nodes and find the response to be good for viewing.It integrates with Amazon alexa. Alexa announces when movement is detected in the prescribed viewing area. With the Home Base 3 it can learn faces and after some AI learning (documentation says), it now labels the video with the faces.Overall it is a very good system so far.
