Amazing amount of games packed on an awesome looking console!
Really love this game console, it is reminiscent of the classic Gameboy color system with a modern twist. The screen really looks amazing, colors pop, resolution isnât amazing but good enough to play all the retro systems with flying colors. I really like how dim the display gets, at its lowest setting I can easily play the console in pitch darkness, the only thing that annoys me is the bright led light that is visible through the transparent shell, it is jarringly bright and I cannot find a way of turning it off, you can only change the color from the default blue to a red which is slightly dimmer. Wish I could turn the LED off all together. Buttons are all really responsive on the console, all clicks register first time, the analogue sticks are recessed and feel good, almost identical to Nintendo switch style analogue sticks. The A,B,X,Y buttons feel good, good travel and good membrane style feel. The trigger buttons donât feel great and have a hollow click but do work fine and are placed well. The front 3 buttons are really clicky and hollow feeling and unfortunately one feels different than the other two which is a bit odd. The D pad feels great and has a good membrane style click to it.The software is really where this console shines, amazing amount of preloaded games about half of which already have box art scraped so has a really nice look in emulation station. Comes with a 256gb micro SD which you can add more games too and also potentially install custom firmware, but the out of the box experience will be perfect for 90% of users. Amazing selection of games, from all the classics on GBA, NES, SNES, Gameboy and a ton more. Battery life is really great too, left it at about 40% and didnât use it for a few days and it stayed at the exact same battery percentage which is awesome.Overall for $80 you get a lot of value here, a ton of games to play, good feeling and looking game console, good screen, great software, highly recommend this if you want to play some classic retro games on the go, I love it!

Very good
Very good retro handheld console. Says there are exactly 15,108 games installed across multiple generations. Screen is large, bright and clear. Quality of the plastic is good and has a decent weight to it.Not sure why they call this R40S Pro when its pretty much just an R36S. Even the internals inside says R36S as shown in my uploaded photo. Another thing, the product page says the battery is 3800mAh, when in fact, it is just 3000mAh as shown in my poto. Most of the buttons are loud, especially the triggers. No issues with the D-Pad and sticks. Theres only one speaker and it is right in the center. The sound quality is good, but would’ve been better if there were two.I’ve seen a video review of this same product online and for some weird reason, the copies I got have a cheap printed sticker on the back unlike the more professional looking one I seen on the video review. I’ve uploaded the difference as well.Overall, still a very good handheld thats great for wasting time on. Personally, I would look into other retro gaming handhelds because nowadays, it just seems like theres a new one every week.

Excellent value, a ton of features. Awesome retro-gaming.
The FVBADE R40S is exactly the same as other R40S devices you’ll find out there, but that just means it’s a great unit. This one comes in a translucent gray blue, giving it kind of an icy color scheme. The device does included a very bright magenta light that shines when it is charging; which meant I needed to put it away in a drawer while I slept, though this is a minor complaint. The vivid, crystal clear 3.5 inch screen looks amazing when playing retro titles in native 4:3. The controls offer a ton of flexibility and are remappable in the software. You should almost never find yourself unable to make a game work with the given layout. The included software is sleek, and the games are all organized well. There are a ton of retro games pre-loaded. It is lacking a ROMs from a few older systems, such as the Sega Master System, but adding custom ROMs is easy: just remove the included SD card, plug it into a PC and drop your ROMs into the folder for the requisite system. The built in software offers a ton of complex features, and this might be a better system for older kids, who won’t get lost in the layers of menus. All in all, this is a full-featured retro-gaming handheld that contains many hours of fun. For under $100, this is a tremendous value.

SCAM ITEM?
This is a scam item. The description says R40S PRO but it is actually an R36S nothing new with it.

Perfect for the classics!
This handheld game console runs retro games like it’s nobody’s business. Everything I have tried on it from NES games to PSX games, all run perfectly without any issues. The sound can be distorted and tinny from the speaker if turned up all the way, so I prefer to have the volume at 70% or lower. The screen just makes any game look incredible on it. The images are very sharp and colors are vivid. This console is the perfect companion to game on when I am on the road or on a flight.

Great little handheld
This thing is great for the following reasons:- Rechargeable battery- Comes loaded with 15000 games, and the ability to add more games. Looking at the games list it includes basically all games SNES and lower. It includes a big selection of N64, and a smaller selection of PSP, PS1, Dreamcast games.- Performance is pretty good, I have experienced some issues but nothing major.

Games play well, but there are bugs
I chose to order this product because I really like the gaming handhelds which have L1/L2/R1/R2 triggers on the back. It feels comfortable in my hands, and the performance and display feel reasonable for the price point ($89.99 minus a $10 discount at time of review). The included games library brings plenty to enjoy, and the second MicroSD slot leaves plenty of room for expansion. The system has plenty of customization available to tweak individual games to perform better or as desired. There are some odd bugs though, I believe some of these boil down to shader caching and those performance tweaks I mentioned earlier. While it could be better, I’m happy with it.
