For many homeowners, the garage door is the most used entry point to the home – not to mention the largest. Having up-to-date information about who is accessing your garage at any given time can provide immense peace of mind. And being able to operate your garage door from your smart device is the ultimate convenience! Do both of these and more with Genie’s Aladdin Connect smartphone connectivity. This WIFI garage door opener gives you power over your home by monitoring your garage door’s status at all times. If your garage door is opening or closing, Aladdin Connect will alert you – whether the user is authorized or not. Aladdin Connects Security Advantage is the sensor attached to the garage door itself so if an intruder disengaged your system and manually opened your garage door, you would know about it! Aladdin Connect Smart Phone Connectivity is now even smarter, offering new time-based features. These include creating a virtual key, setting a close time for your door, and setting a time frame within which to close your door. This means you can use your garage door controller to provide temporary or permanent access to friends, relatives or service repair workers. You can also ensure that your door gets closed each night by setting it to automatically close at whatever time you choose. You can also set the door to automatically close after it has been left open for a certain amount of time, giving you peace of mind if you’re already on the road and can’t remember if you closed the garage door or not! Plus, the Aladdin Connect is also now compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for the ultimate all-around convenience and security. The Genie Aladdin Connect has a free downloadable app, is easy to install and set up, and increases safety by making your garage door smarter and you more aware. Get connected and stay connected with the Aladdin Connect! Your Wi-Fi router must meet this specification: 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4GHz with WPA2 or WPA Security.
WIFI ENABLED GARAGE DOOR: The Aladdin Connect garage door controller gives you the ability to monitor, open and close your garage door with your smartphone or smart device from anywhere. Also compatible with Amazon Alexa, & Google Assistant.
GET THE SMART SECURITY ADVANTAGE: Using a sensor attached to the garage door, Aladdin Connect monitors the garage door’s position, allowing you to be alerted when the door opens or closes – electronically or manually.
CONTROL UP TO 3 GARAGE DOORS: One door position sensor comes standard in this smartphone controller kit – but you can monitor up to 3 garage doors with additional door position sensors sold separately.
AUTOMATE DOOR CLOSE TIMES & CREATE VIRTUAL KEYS: Aladdin Connect lets you schedule times to close your garage door as well as close the door after a certain length of time. You can also set up virtual keys for friends, neighbors and relatives!

Fully featured. Simple install.
TLDR; Works well and much happier with this solution over the originally installed Q competitor. The scenario functions (both schedule and timer) are much more advanced in the Aladdin product, in addition to the Alexa integration not available in the other.Bought the competing Q product first, as it was $20 cheaper (and then realized it was only $5 difference after I bought the mount for it). While that product was a simpler install (pair it as if another remote), it did not connect to Alexa – only controlled via app. I donât always have my phone in hand so voice control via Alexa is where I see the largest benefits of a âsmartâ home. After realizing the price was $5 difference I unplugged the other and bought the Aladdin. My door opener is a newer Genie installed last year. The initial setup for both products is very similar. I recommend that you setup the app and complete the linking prior to hardware install. Once the two devices are synced, you can unplug and then mount. The pairing was stored even though it was almost 2 weeks in between the pairing and final install. For install, Iâd recommend watching a few of the videos here on Amazon. The written instructions arenât bad but there are options in install that while noted in the setup sheet, arenât detailed enough to help differentiate A from B. I had already watched the videos prior to purchase to confirm functionality so I was aware of the options and how I wanted to set mine up. However, if youâre relying just on the simple setup doc, it may be a little too simplified. For the door mount, I used a drywall anchor and one of the existing holes in the garage door frame. Living in the South, I donât trust sticker mounts. I mounted the sensor lower on the door since I have windows in the top panels. This will also make any future battery replacement easier (no need for a step ladder to reach). Works well. The ceiling mount is what gave me the most pause in thinking where to mount. Be aware of the connecting wires between your main opener and the Aladdin controller – youâll want to keep those free from any moving parts. I ended up mounting on the same side as the wire inputs to avoid running the wire across the opener itself which avoids any potential snags or pulls. Luckily for me, the ceiling plug was also on that same side. With the controller facing the garage door.I can now feel confident that the garage door is not inadvertently left open overnight. While it is part of our evening routine to check the doors, I no longer have to open door between the house and the garage to check and Iâm looking forward to removing it from my mind entirely. Using the saved schedule, have it set to auto close if the door is opened at any point after our normal dinner hour and before we leave for work in the AM. Door will operate normally and auto-close 5 minutes later. You can set the auto close to a timer, rather than a schedule. Meaning, close door after being open for X minutes. However, that doesnât work for us since my husband likes to putter in the yard and leave the garage open while he does so. As much as I prefer the door closed, the Aladdin gives us both a solution that works for us. Weâve got it set so that if itâs dark outside, door will auto close. Otherwise, he can leave it open while heâs in the yard during the day.The controller gives you the option of setting behavior based on day of the week as well. So you could timer close during the weekdays and schedule close on weekends. We may eventually do that but for now, we are both happy with the setup.Overall much better solution than the competitor. Happy with the control and flexibility it provides.

Works as advertised
The Genie Aladdin garage door opener works great. The installation instructions where not very clear on your options for installation. However, once I figured it out, it was relatively easy. The key to the installation is; 1. Make sure you have 2.4GHZ Wi-Fi signal available in the house and set your phone’s Wi-Fi to that signal (2.4GHZ) for setup. Once setup is done, you can go back to 5GHZ on your phone and everything will still work. 2. If you have an old door opener with a pair of wires sticking out through the wall, you can connect those two wires directly to the opener in back and mount it just like the old one and press the blue button(s) just like before (or use the APP) to open (green is Wi-Fi connected)? You will need an outlet available to plug into for power. I used an existing light switch from the garage lights to do that (see photo). Be sure to download the APP before plugging into power. Then follow the rest of the installation guide and APP prompts to connect to Wi-Fi. I put the door transmitter in “line of sight” rather than on the other side of the garage door because of a cabinet in the way – don’t know if it makes a difference?

Retrofit Garage door
This works surprisingly well with garage door. The installation directions are ok, but if you are having trouble you can watch the video on Youtube. I had issues with the mobile app as the controller would not connect with my wifi and the app. I had to call the Genie support, which was very helpful in diagnosing my issue. I was told that the app does not work well with Android phones. Genie support had to walk me thru setting up the controller thru a separate website. There is no way you could have done this or figured this out on your own. This is a major issue with this device, because no where online or in the provided instructions was this discussed. Other than this the device has been great. I can make sure my garage door is open/closed and there is a log to notify you when someone has accessed your garage. You can set up “rules” to set timers to open/close your door and you can set up special access keys to guests and delivery drivers. I would highly recommend this item.

Never wonder if you forgot to close your garage door
Easy installation and it works great as long as your Wi-Fi strength extends into your garage. I canât tell you how many times we doubled back to our driveway to see if we in fact closed the garage door. No more!!!

Itâs junk
The seal on my opener was cut through when I bought my NEW device. Not sure if that has any importance with my complaints with it.The installation was simple. Find a place to mount it thatâs close to an outlet. Simple enough. Connect wires to your garage door opener and to the device. Also simple. After getting it connected I was able to use my wall mounted opener to open the door. The app saw my door open and notified me. I closed the door with the wall mount, the app saw the door close and notified me. I tried to open the door with the app, the device it came with beeped loud the app said the for was opening. The door never opened. I opened the door with the wall button. The app notified me again the door was open. Tried closing with the app, it beeped again, and nothing happened. I then tried closing the door with the wall button and no response. I held the wall button in and the door would close as long as I held the button down.I unplugged everything and went through the installation process again. This time anytime I tried to use the app to control the door, it wouldnât connect to the door.I have mesh WiFi in my house with a router in my garage. WiFi full bars. Their FAQ is not helpful and I refuse to call any customer service and am not going back and forth for weeks with email support. This item is being returned.

Working Great
Working great with no problems. Only one thing I am not to happy about… It only allows (1) ONE rule and once entered can not be seen and or changed and can only be over written by another rule.

No es muy fácil su instalación, y no lo he logrado enlazar a Google Home. Estoy en Mexico, no se si eso afecte.
