Easy breezy
My home has been ‘smart’ for at least 8 years with plugs and bulbs managed with apps. The Gosund brand has been my GoTo as I have an account and the app and the products have also easily connected to Alexa. I searched amazon for that brand and this one came up as compatible.. I just needed one plug for a new nightlight..The plug immediately synched up with the Gosund app and was programmable in minutes. The Alexa app recognized the plug and added it to the group of devices I manage there. Easy breezy.

It is straightforward to connect and set up with their app, as well as to create as many schedules as needed, group them and operate them together, and control them via smart assistants e.g. Alexa, Google Assistant, SmartThings.Now everybody can make any device “smart” with the cost of just a few dollars, as long as a device has a mechanical on-off switch, so, for instance, one can schedule when the toaster will start making toasts in the morning when one is still in bed, or to set up charging e-bike’s battery at night, when the electricity price is lower. The number of potential applications is simply unlimited.They are reliable and one can even decide the relay status, so when the power goes off they can return to the last mode, be on, or off.Very convenient and highly recommended!

Perhaps the worst instructions that I have ever seen came with this device. This is how I got it to work.1) Download the Gosund App from Google Play or Apple.2) Plug in the device, the blue led will blink meaning it is pairing mode, nothing further needs to be done with the device.3) Start the Gosund App and enter the WiFi password.4) Select Add a device on the app. Manually select WP3/5.SELECT THE BLINK FAST OPTION!That’s it, it should connect. On a loss of power the device reverts to ON regardless of its previous setting.The blue LED button can be used to put the device back in pairing mode, ie blinking.

Tricky to set up
I was excited to get these smart plugs as I really wanted to hook my 6yr old son’s TV up to it. He often wakes up in the middle of the night and turns the TV on, even tho he knows it’s against the rules and interrupts his ability to go back to sleep. I didn’t want to remove the TV all together so I figured these were a good option. At first, I found it a bit difficult to actually connect the smart plugs to my phone. It took at least 5 trys for the first plug to connect (and yes, I had it near my router and my phone was close to it as well). It just kept failing. However, once I got the first one to connect the 2nd one paired fairly easily. I like that you can set timers for them, which is what I am using for my son for his TV. I set a timer for when the TV outlet will turn on (this allowing him to watch TV) and also set a time for when it will automatically shut off. It’s been working fantastically and now I don’t have to worry about him waking up and watching tv in the middle of the night. I would give it 5 stars but the difficulty with pairing these devices was annoying and for that I took off 1 star. I would recommend them tho. Since I only needed 1 for my son’s TV, I used the other for a lamp in my living room that no one seems to want to turn off at night. I put a timer on it as well where it will automatically turn off at a certain time. It works great. Would recommend.

Extremely easy to use and install
I simply plugged this item into the wall, pushed the button and opened the gosung app. It was a piece of cake, because the app recognized a new device and all I had to do was to click on it, and there you go.I was able to then control items plugged into it very easily. I used it to rest my instant pot as well as another one to control a fountain.
