Peace of Mind!
Pairing the hub unit to my wifi was more involved than it needed to be. I had to watch a YouTube video to get it right. First you need to connect your phone to your low band wifi-the 2.5 ghz one and then work some wizardry to get the GOVEE app (which I already had for several bulbs) to see your low band wifi. Once that was done, it was simple to pair one sensor at a time with the app and then re-label it something that makes sense, like “1st Floor Sink” etc. In addition I got the extra 5 pack so now I have 7 of these in the house, with 2 just for the equipment room.Fortunately, none of them have been set off yet, but when I was testing, I got an alert on the phone, and email, and the unit itself is loud and annoying–exactly as it should be! Part of me looks forward to having these save me, but part of me hopes they never go off LOL!

PRODUCT GREAT BUT ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE
so these products are always tricky to get paired and I can dedicate the setup with my WiFi for the recommended 2.4 which after it finally caught the hub the sensors were quick connect – but after initial set up of 6 I thought of another area so repeated steps in set up but it will not – emailed their useless customer service – 7 days later no reply but survey sent to me where I replied not satisfied as not contacted for assistance no email nothing. So great product just know you will not get help if need. No phone contact cause they probably are aware of maybe only 1 person minding the store if any. I will continue to blast their customer service as it angers me.** so I tried the add on again after a week or so and it magically worked like a charm as did initial set up – have no idea what was wrong on my failed attempt but yes great add on no hiccups at all.** but sadly I give minus 0 on the customer service as there was none. Great water sensors just donât need help. How sad.

CHECKS FOR WATER
LOUD ALARM WHEN WATER LEAK IS DETECTED WITH APP NOTIFICATION WITH MODULE AND THEY WORK. HAVE SAVED ME FROM MAJOR DAMAGE AND HAVING AN INSURANCE CLAIM WHEN WATER HEATER STARTED TO LEAK. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE GOVEE WATER LEAK DETECTORS THAT HAVE A LONG BATTERY LIFE AS THESE SAVE YOU A LOT OF EFFORT AND MONEY WHEN YOU HAVE A WATER LEAK. PLACE THESE INEXPENSIVE DETECTORS AT EVERY PLACE THERE’S A POSSIBLE WATER LEAK, IT ONLY TAKES ONE UNNOTICED LEAK FOR A LOT OF DAMAGE – BUY THESE FOR PEACE OF MIND.

Works as advertised but the battery cover is horrible
So far these seem to be holding up after a few years. However, it starts chirping when the battery is dying (and odds are it will happen while you are sleeping at 2am). The battery cover has tiny screws to remove to gain access to the batteries, which is a really poor design. Upon replacement of the batteries, I just taped the cover on and ditched the screws.

They work!
We had a new bath put in our lower level and had our kitchen re-done. Weâve spent a lot of money and didnât want to take any chances that water would ruin everything weâve done. In the month since weâve put them down, theyâve alerted us to water twice – and one of the times was the day after we put it under our kitchen sink. The installer didnât fasten down a connection properly and water was everywhere under our sink. We may not have noticed this if it wasnât for these alarms! Saved my brand new cabinets. The second time was an issue with the plumbing for the new bath. When my daughter was showering, water started to back up in the drain hole on the other side of her bathroom. I was on the second floor of our home and heard this alarm going off in a closed off room in our lower level. Nice and loud!I recommend these to anyone! Save yourself big repair bills and use these!

Works in a large house ( 5000 sq ft)
I had already bought a Govee 3 pack water detector with WiFi gateway and wanted to add additional detectors. I bought this 5 pack water detector sensor pack and it seamlessly integrated with original WiFi gateway all the way to the 2nd floor ⦠gateway is in basement. I suggest you write a location tag on each sensor (like Main Bath) with indelible felt marker and give the same name in the app to identify the sensor. I wish this was an automatic function in the app!

Works with FiOS gigabit service
Anyone thatâs gone through water damage will tell you this is definitely worth the time and investment. Time will tell if these devices will work down the road but what I like about this product is that there are alarms on each sensor as well as an app that will trigger email notifications and app notifications. If your Wi-Fi and power is down for some reason, you still have the alarm in each individual sensor as a fallback. As others have pointed out, the initial set up can be a bit of a pain, particularly if you were on 5G so I decided to outline the steps for my process as a Verizon FiOS customer using gigabit service and 5 GHz WiFi.Fios SetupFirst go to the FiOS app on your iPhone or android. Depending on your app set up, click on Internet (Manage your home network)/Advanced Settings/Self Organizing Network (SON) and disable it. Once you come back out to the Prior menu screen you should see both your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. In order to set up the Govee, I temporarily disabled my 5 GHz networks to avoid any issues with the device pairing. After I was done setting up the hub and pairing all sensors, I reenabled the 5 gig service.Step-by-step setupGovee Hub Setup:Plug-in Govee hub device so buttons are on the left. Download Govee Home app. Open it and click the plus button to add a new device. Type 5040 or 5041 depending on your model. Create a Govee account with the email you want to be notified when thereâs an alarm. With the hub plugged in so the buttons are on the left side, press and hold the top button for three seconds until the blue light starts blinking in a slow steady manner. Click confirm on the Govee app and type in your Wi-Fi password. That should create the Govee gateway in your list of Wi-Fi options, which you will need to select. So go to settings/ Wi-Fi and click the Govee gateway option in your list of Wi-Fi SSIDs. Once your phone connects to the Govee Gateway, go back to the Govee app and continue through any prompts. Make sure your phone is close to the Govee hub and that youâre within range of your router. When the hub is done connecting, you should automatically see the sensors that came in your kit, listed in your Govee app on your phone. From here, you can select the sensor in the app, click the gear icon in the top right corner and rename each individual device with the location where you are putting it. E.g., 5040-T67G (XXXX) can be renamed to dishwasher or washing machine, etc.Pairing Additional Govee Sensors:If you purchased additional sensors, you will need to pair those with the Govee hub individually. At least thatâs how I did it so I could keep track of each sensor and rename it appropriately. To pair a new sensor, remove the battery cover from the sensor so that the device is active. With the hub plugged in so the buttons are on the left, press and hold the lower button for three seconds. It should begin to blink red and blue. At this point press and hold the sensor button for three seconds and let go. You should hear a subsequent beep from the sensor within a few seconds of letting go of the button. From here, your device should be added to the app within 30 to 60 seconds and you should be able to see the new sensor number listed the app. You may need to change screens (click on profile then click back to the home button) within the app to see the update. Follow the same steps to rename each sensor as needed.I purchased additional sensors so I needed to identify them individually and decided to use a label maker on each one so that I donât get them mixed up.Because I had so many sensors, and could not figure out how to identify the individual sensors in the app, I was forced to trigger the alarm (by getting each sensor wet momentarily). This allowed me to see which sensor in the app was triggered and from there I was able to rename it. It also allowed me to test the function of each sensor.Hope this helps those of you in my situation!

I bought the Govee Gateway and 3 sensors PLUS this Govee 5 sensor package. Following the instructions for connecting the Gateway to my 2.4g WiFi worked perfectly. Installing the Govee Home app from the Google Play Store worked perfectly as well on my Samsung 22+ Android phone and the app found the Govee Gateway correctly. The 3 sensors that came with the Gateway are already paired to the Gateway. Each of the 5 extra sensors had to be paired to the Gateway using the instructions. Most paired and showed up on the “devices” menu in the Govee Home app, but a couple looked like they paired, but didn’t show up in the app. All I had to do was place those sensors on a wet rag to force the alarm and then they showed up in the app with the sensor ID in RED which you clear by clicking “Got it” to the warning, AND, then they showed up with all the other sensor devices currently paired to the Gateway.A word about the Sensor IDs for each sensor – format H5054_NNNN. The Senor IDs are unique for each sensor, but are not printed on the sensor, so I placed each sensor one at a time on a damp cloth to test it’s alarm which pops up in the Govee app with the sensor ID in RED. So I wrote the ID in felt pen on each sensor which allows you to identify which sensor is sensing water. I had no trouble using the APP to create four rooms – Main Bathroom, Utility Room, Kitchen and 2nd Bathroom, AND, then adding my labeled sensors in each room.I really like that the sensors use triple AAA batteries that will be easy to replace (I cannot say how long they’ll last since my 8 sensors are now only 2 weeks old). I also really like that when water is detected, the Govee app shows you which sensor is alarming and also sends an email warning to my defined email address. So far the system is working perfectly. 5 stars from me.

It is good that it has contacts on top and bottom. Simple and effective.

I recently had a waterline separate in my crawl space (30 year old house) and luckily my wife has great hearing and she heard it running right away. This motivated me to take some protective measures.I first bought a set with WIFI hub and 3 detectors (first delivery was an open box so I sent that one back and ordered another set). Tested all the components in water and worked as advertised. I then added 5 more detection devices and all connected to the hub perfectly. I have scattered the detectors around the upper floors of my house and in my crawl space. My hearing is not the best so the phone messages are essential for my if I have a problem in the crawl space or I have TV headphones on.
