Worth The Money!!!
If you are looking for a great outdoor tool to plug multiple things into that need/could use the assistance of a timer this is the perfect product for you! I have my outdoor Christmas lights plugged into this steak/extension/timer. You download the deviceâs app to your phone and can easily schedule when you want your Christmas lights to turn on and off. There is also a âpower buttonâ that you can tap in the app to turn them on/off if you wish to do it that way. Itâs so user friendly and helpful! I would recommend to everyone. Im so happy to have found a product that can easily help me turn my Christmas lights off and on without having to go outside in the cold to plug/unplug them everyday.

Awesome
I’m not sure what the issue is for other reviewers, but I purchased one of these and it works so well I bought another one. I did not download any separate app, the app that I use for indoor lights and things actually noticed the stake right away and connected it. I’ve been able to set timers, set up scheduling based on astronomical stuff, etc. I don’t use an Alexa or Google Home because I don’t like voice control, but my app does have that functionality so I assume it would work just as easily. I have had no issues putting in any type of plug, either… One reviewer said that only indoor plugs worked, but all of my outdoor extension cords and outdoor cables all plug in easily with enough space to use all outlets if I want.I have it hooked up to a transformer for pathway lights in the backyard, and it’s set up for my porch lights (Edison LED string lights) in the front yard. I have added holiday lights to it as well. This has been easily the best option I have found for outdoor smart power. It’s better than some of my indoor outlets. Unfortunately, it is not weatherproof for in-use, so I am fitting plastic boxes around them to further protect them from rain. That would be my ideal product, but no smart plug that I’ve found has the in-use rain cover. It would also be great if I could control the outlets separately, or at least by side… But that is something that the indoor ones still struggle with too. This is perfect otherwise, and, for the price, it can’t be beat.

Almost sent it back but love it
I was a little nervous because some of the reviews. I could not get it to pair up with my phone. I ended up going back and reading some of the reviews and one told me how to do it manually and it worked right away. Its great. Have all my Christmas lights hooked up and on a timer.

Doesnât work, yet?
I just submitted a support ticket and will come back to change my review If I can get this thing working. The instruction booklet and YouTube video mention a blue light, blinking every half second in order to connect this via the iPhone app in âeasy modeâ. I never get a blinking blue light, I get a fast blinking purple light. There is no mention anywhere about a fast blinking purple light. I can get a slow blinking blue light, which apparently means I should be able to connect this in âAP modeâ, but there is a task in the app where I need to verify that a light is blinking and the ânextâ button never illuminates in the app, so I cannot move past that screen. The YouTube video says a screen should pop up, allowing me to move onto the next step, but it does not. I consider myself pretty tech savvy and I have never had an issue such as this. Either this is a defective unit or the instructions are defective. I will find out when they respond to my support ticket. Itâs annoying that their YouTube instructional video has comments blocked as I cannot ask for help there. Hopefully they have good tech-support or this thing is going back. Bleah.

Works perfect for my outdoor holiday decorations
I was looking for an outdoor plug that I could push into the ground and be able to control with my phone over Wi-Fi. After reading some reviews I was pretty nervous about having connectivity issues so I purchased the TP-LINK – Kasa Smart Wi-Fi plug as another option just in case. The set up instructions were poorly written, but fortunately Amazon provides a video up with the product photos that does a good job in explaining the process. I did run into a road block since I use the Comcast Xfinity Xfi modem. It is a dual Wi-Fi router that broadcasts in one signal. I couldn’t set up the HBN outlet since my phone was on the 5G signal and it needed to be on 2.4G in order to connect to the plug.I didn’t want to go through the hassle of changing my router settings, so during the set up process I walked out in the yard as far as I could until I was beyond the range of my 5G signal. I then let my phone automatically switch to 2.4G. Although, the 2.4G signal is slower than 5G it does have a much larger range. When my phone switched over to 2.4G the HBN app was then able to see the outdoor plug and I was able to complete the set up process. Now I’m able to connect to the device regardless of whether my phone is on the 2.4 or 5G signal. Even if I have to unplug and plug back in the device, I can still automatically connect to it as long a it’s powered on. The app is good enough for me and let’s me set up schedules by a specific time, by sunrise / sunset, or a combination of the two.I’m sure there is more functionality to the app, but that is what I need it for. I know you can also use Alexa and Google Home to control it, but I haven’t tested it beyond the HSN app.The 6 plugs on the device can NOT be controlled separately from each other. They are all on or all off. I sent the TP-LINK back without testing it, so I’m unable to compare the two.Overall, I’m pleased with the product. I use it for my outdoor holiday decorations and it works perfectly for my needs. I did rate it 4 stars because of the poor instructions, connectivity issues when setting up, and the app didn’t seem very impressive compared to other home automation products.
