EDIT ON 30 APRIL 2020:I am changing my review again, but for very good reason. After I edited my review and said how disappointed I was, A rep named Una from Holy Stone reached out to ME! I’ve never seen customer service do that before, so right off the bat I began to change my mind about the company.I replied back and walked them through the issue of literally 5 seconds flight time, and after cycling batteries and still having the issue, they believed the problem was the drone, not the batteries. By my second reply to them, they already had a new drone shipped out to me! I did not even ask for a replacement, nor did I reach out to them— but they still went above and beyond, contacted me directly after I changed my review, and sent me a brand new replacement. The replacement came in this week, and it’s been working flawlessly! Not only am I getting 8-10 minutes flight time per battery, the drone now controls WAY better than the original defective one I had, which pretty much left no doubt that I simply had bad luck and got the ONE defective drone they made (based on other reviews I’m reading, this is NOT a common problem AT ALL, so don’t get deterred by it!).So now I can definitively say, now that I have battery life AND a drone that performs as intended (with both battery life AND controls), that this is simply, without a doubt, the best drone that you can buy at this price point, and may be one of the best entry level drones I’ve ever flown. And if you order it and something is wrong, believe me, they WILL make it right!ORIGINAL REVIEW:Lastly, thank you to Una, the rep that contacted me and made this right. Nothing builds loyalty more than feeling like you are valued as a customer, and I honestly cannot recall a time where any company rep has made me feel more valued as a customer than she did! THANK YOU!!As with everything else in life, you get what you pay for. Is it a DJI Phantom? Of course not. Is it one of the best you can get for under $60? Beyond a doubt.I’ve flown everything at the entry level, and thought nothing could beat my Tello… until this came in. Easy to control, easy to fly, and very durable (arguably one of the most important aspects of entry level drones), not to mention that you’ll be up in the air in minutes right out of the box.Bottom line… I love it!EDIT ON 30 MARCH 2020:The drone still flies great, the video quality is still awesome for the price point, but the one area in which I did see an issue?… the battery life. When streaming the video over the wifi to your phone, the battery life is incredibly short. By incredibly short, I mean less than 60 seconds of flight time per charge. And no matter what I do, even when I charge over night, the battery would never reach a full charge (it does not give a percentage, but it topped out at what looked like 90% or so, judging by the battery icon in the app once it connected.)I figured that there will always be one or two that slip through QA, and decided to give it another chance, because it IS a GREAT drone in EVERY other aspect. So I ordered a new battery direct from Amazon, which had the item sold by Holy Stone, the same as the drone was. After a couple days of waiting, I fully charged the new battery and had high hopes. But upon trying it with this new battery, the battery life problem persisted. It still will not get to 100% charge no matter how long I leave it charging for, and the battery life is still less than 60 seconds. Now, I WILL say that the battery life does jump up to 2-3 minutes when you are not connected to the drone and recording/taking photos to the micro-sd. BUT, even then, this is way less than the 10-minutes on the description. Unless I somehow got TWO batteries that never should have passed thru their Quality Assurance, this is an amazing drone that falls short in what is arguably the most important aspect: power. Without power, you cannot have anything else, and even with 2 fully charged batteries, we get less than 120 seconds (TOTAL) of live video with it. Very, very disappointing. And one more issue that has brought down my rating: I responded to their request in the box to leave a good review for them and show them the screenshot to get the free extra battery. It has been nearly a month, and I have not received anything other than an email that pretty much only said “thanks”.Again, I will say it is an amazing drone in EVERY other aspect, and that is why I will not say it deserves one star. But when two fully charged batteries get me less than five minutes of flight time, I cannot in good conscience recommend this to anyone. There are similar drones I personally own that will give me 5-10x the flight time with live video, at a similar price point. Hopefully they will make batteries that can store more than 1000mAh, which would make this be well above five stars.

Holy Stone HS110D: A super fun, easy to fly beginner drone
I’d have to say that I am very pleasantly surprised at how fun and easy the HS110D drone is to fly. Let me start off by saying that I have a drone family (both in the literal and figurative sense). We have a fleet of tiny indoor drones, and some really nice outdoor drones. I say we are a drone family in the literal and figurative sense because my children (4) and I love to fly the drones together outdoors, and the figurative part of the drone family is the “family” of drones we have between indoor and outdoor (a total of 8 drones).I purchased the HS110D because I wanted something that was super easy to fly, and could be flown indoors and out. The reviews were quite good, so I bit the bullet, not too hard because it was very reasonably priced relative to all of its features (~$55).It came in a premium box that included a lot of nice accessories. The HS110D came with 2 batteries, extra props/prop guards and landing gear, a comprehensive manual (which tends to be sorely lacking these days because they expect you to find it online, or the manual is super tiny), a nice little log/notebook (which actually has a nice, premium look of rawhide leather), and, what I liked the most was a “cheat sheet” overlay for the remote control. This drone is fun to fly, and super easy to learn. I really wanted this for my youngest daughter to feel safe and comfortable flying. And this checked all of the boxes.Taking her out for a flight was easy, and she took nice photos and video, responsive to controls, and decent battery life (for such a tiny battery). For ~$55, she packs quite a punch. Knowing that she was only ~$55 really helped me to set expectations. The photos and videos were decent quality, and I loved how she had the ability to do flips. I do note that because it lacks GPS and/or an optical flow sensor, much more user input is needed to keep her in control (I had to remind my kids, as they are used to my other drones holding their position because of the sensors and GPS). I think this is a great, entry level drone that checks the boxes of:1) fun2) easy to fly/control3) inexpensive4) decent photos/video (again, for a ~$55 drone).5) great user manual and accessoriesThere is not much I would want them to change or improve in drone in this price range. My only ask is that there was an external charger for the batteries (Unfortunately you have to charge the batteries in the drone)This is my second Holy Stone drone, and a reason to love Holy Stone is the customer service. It is second to none. They are responsive, understanding, helpful, and go way above and beyond to ensure that customer needs are met. They epitomize, “the customer is always right”. With the knowledge that Customer service is top notch and responsive, I will continue to come back to Holy Stone. They have a place in my drone family. So if you are looking for a great first/beginner drone (or simply a fun and easy to use indoor/outdoor drone), look no further! Here are a bunch of photos and a video I took. If you come into this with the right expectations (this is a ~$55 drone beginner drone, and not a professional or hobbyist level drone), you will have a great drone and a great experience.
