Searching for a laptop and this one keeps coming up. Checked it out. HP has not let me down yet. Just remember to switch from Safe Mode so you can have full function of the computer

Great value and quality, keyboard not backlit
Display isn’t poor as other reviews stated but high resolutionâat least enough to satisfy my tastes which are very picky. You will be happy with this laptop. Included are many HP support apps for diagnostics and maintenance. I wish, however, the keyboard was backlit but an easy workaround I found was to add a $10 laptop keyboard light which plugs into USB port and is bendable/dimmable. In addition the hard drive is a little small at 126Gb but as a workaround I spent $40 on a high-speed 512Gb USB C thumb drive (Sandisk 400Mb/sec).

You may not be buying what you think you are buying.
The laptop stopped working after 8 months. The screen went black, and the laptop did not turn on. I called HP since it was still under warranty. They tried to troubleshoot it and figured out that it had been modified. The specification for Hard drive and Memory on HP website were different than the ones on Amazon. HP thought that these modifications caused the problems with the laptop, and it voided my warranty. I called Amazon, they said that the return window was closed, and I had to call the seller who had modified the laptop in the first place and sold it as a new one. I am very disappointed that neither Amazon cared enough to provide a better customer service when the seller lied on the item description nor HP was willing to support their product.

The only drawback for me is, it doesn’t have a DVD/CD player. You’ll have to buy that as a plug-in.
