Excellent and inexpensive.
I bought this bluetooth unit so that I could send Echo Dot audio to my home theater receiver, which doesnât have a native bluetooth input. It paired easily to the Echo Dot already in my living room, and I connected it to my receiver via the optical cable option, keeping the audio data digital all the way to the receiver. Looks great as it matches up aesthetically to my receiver.I put the unit on a smart outlet so that I could turn it on and off via Alexa voice control, which is handy for times when I donât need/want more immersive sound, and my home theater receiver is turned off. The Echo Dot automatically toggles back to its internal speaker when the unit is off and connects immediately when the unit powers up. Though the unit has a momentary button for power/track control, it powers up on its own when the smart outlet applies power from shutoff, and the unit remembers the volume setting that it was last set to. The Echo Dot still retains its microphone access. Was very happy about all these things because it makes for a hassle-free, voice-controlled experience. The unitâs sound quality is excellent (expected in keeping an all-digital path via the optical cable connection). Its controls work properly. Audio data is captured and passed on flawlessly. Set it and forget it. The unit is very lightweight. I wouldnât think it can handle rough treatment well. The kindly-supplied optical cable is stiffer than other optical cables, making its appearance management a little tougher. The supplied USB-C power cable is pretty short. Consider getting a longer one if you need more than a foot or so to power this unit. I have not tried the unitâs USB audio input option.Iâm glad I bought this. It was originally an experiment that wound up delivering beautifully and inexpensively. Highly recommend.

Clear and clean audio
Works great, easy to pair. Using my phone, the range is about 30′. Using the optical cable to connect it to my 5.1 system. My 5.1 has a switched AC output outlet, which works perfectly with this unit. Be advised you have to provide your own USB power source.

Works well without Bose EQ
I added this receiver to a setup with an NAD 2200 amp and Series IV Bose 901s. It only works well if I bypass the Bose EQ so the music is flatter than it should. The Bose EQ hates the receiver and the two together make a terrible humming sound. I did try the EQ without this receiver and it works great as ever. So I installed this receiver in the bedroom system ahead of the NAD 2200 amp which powers some Vandersteen 2 speakers and they sound great. The range throughout that side of the house is sufficient. I like the volume control at the receiver as well as on my Bluetooth device. In my case, it’s an android phone. I’m driving the Bose gear now with an NAD 7130 receiver instead.

It’s Bluetooth, not Wifi, so you’re fidelity I’d limited and very good for what it is.
Good value for moderate sound level. Not for critical listening, but understand what you’re getting and your expectations.. Volume level adjustment is a plus on unit to match bluetooth source. Pairs easily with phone. Really no need to spend more for convenience. It’s not a wifi device like Chromecast audio of which I own three. They Excel at fidelity(ie: no compression, full dynamic range)but are not about portability like bluetooth.

Only worked one (1) time
The provided instruction manual lacks any meaningful details on how to operate the wireless receiver. Unless you have a high powered magnifying glass, you wont be able to read it anyway (text is about the size of the date on a U.S. Dime). Once turned on an unintelligible female voice speaks, what I heard is unknown. Once turned on it displays a two digit code, but the manual does not say what the code means. I was able to sync to my galaxy phone and the unit did provide sound to my connected stereo receiver. I disconnected the Bluetooth and was unable to reconnect my phone to the receiver in 10+ attempts; all the while the recorded female voice kept incessantly speaking, all of it unintelligible. I would not recommend this item to anyone.

Really slick little device!
I love this thing! I was skeptical when I placed the order, but it works great and sounds even better. I’m using it for a 40-year-old stereo (receiver/amp). I’m impressed. It’s really nice to listen to my phone’s Spotify on the stereo while the phone stays in my pocket. The range is quite good. I just hope this thing lasts, because it feels really light and cheap…there must not me much inside.

Setup and syncing is smooth and easy, not the greatest quality sound though.
No problem syncing up the bluetooth from my computer to my ancient Yamaha stereo receiver which I connected to the Kaiy receiver with the included RCA cables. Probably a good 30 feet from my bedroom to my living room where my stereo is and there’s no problem with the connection dropping. There is a good amount of quality loss listening to mp3 music files from my computer versus playing a cd through my stereo and it’s not because they’re mp3’s. I’ve played mp3’s directly from my laptop via an input cable to my stereo before and they sounded awesome, unfortunately that’s not the case with this device using bluetooth.
