Excellent smart switches!
I was comparing this to the Lutron smart diva switches. The lutrons are almost triple the price, but they have great reviews. I am so glad I DID NOT BUY THE LUTRONS. These kasa smart dimmers were easily installed, and the software works great, over wifi. I haven’t had any issues with connectivity, and it has worked great with my google home. I would say if you want to save money, this is it. This might be one of my favorite purchases of the year.

Work very well, easy to install
Upon receiving the boxes, they are packaged very well, each individual switch has its on QR code sticker, so don’t lose them. When installing, you need to make sure you have a neutral line, otherwise these will not work! If your house was built in the last 10-15 years, you shouldn’t have an issue. I had the pleasure of having self contained switches in my home, so I had to install old work j-boxes before installing, but once I got the boxes in, these fit with no issue, and we’re very easy to install.I have 18 light switches in my home, 12 of them are now these switches. Even 2 of my 2 gang, and the 3 gang have these now, although they need separate face plates. The app is terrific, I got these to use in my Google home, which they do just perfectly, but I actually like the Kasa app more. They are very versatile as they connect with every smart home because of Matter.Lastly they look very sleek, and like they were meant to be there, but now with the added benefits of dimming these harsh LEDs and setting up some useful automations to make our day even easier!

No matter, no worries
I choose this over the cheaper version because of the support for Matter. I don’t have a Matter aware hub yet, but the Alexa and SmartThings apps picked them up from the Kasa app just fine. Future-proof but fully functional.Four stars because missing one feature. Dimming from the switch itself needs more increments. For some lights. So, an extra setting in the Kasa app would make the physical dimmers much more useful.

Working Great from the Kasa App & Alexa
Working Great from the Android Kasa app & Alexa. I’m using each dimmer with 3 Feit 65W equivalent LED’s bulbs (8.3w each – From Costco). No flicker. Really love all my Kasa dimmers and switches. Great Value – I will continue to replace my klunky and unreliable X10’s (1970’s Technology). No additional standalone Home Automation Controller – so unable to test Matter and other integrations besides the Kasa app and Alexa.

Works great with Homekit, need proper lights to work
Since these are Matter certified, they work with Apple Homekit. No problems with integrating into my smart home. Be aware that these dimmer switches use TRIAC LED technology so you have to make sure the dimming lights use the same technology otherwise the lights will be humming when dimmed.

Great smart switch, with excellent manual controls
Installed to control lighting in my kitchen. There is a glowing light on the switch which makes it easy to find in a dark room, not bright, but just bright enough. The kasa app works well, and the matter control works even better. I control with matter via nest wifi pro and assistant.

I have had a smart home with 50+ devices for about a decade, since Apple first brought out its HomeKit smart home system. I have a lot of experience with the benefits and also the many hassles of smart home devices.Firstly let me comment on the physical product itself, and the company behind it. Great design. Great quality. Committed brand, with a good track record I think you can trust. Easy to physically install if you are comfortable with connecting wires, and can turn off a circuit breaker. You MUST have white “neutral” wires, which typically any electrical system done since the 1980’s will have. Instructions are straight forward. You might discover some of your existing switches are not wired in typical ways. If this is the case and you don’t fully understand it, get an electrician. I think most people will be okay.BUT ⦠from an all around software setup perspective, this is by far the most aggravating installation experience I ever had – until it wasn’t. This is the FIRST Matter protocol device I have installed in my Apple Home. I DO have the required Matter/Thread routers that are needed. In this case of an Apple Home, several Apple TVs and HomePods. If you use Google Home, or Alexa, or other you MUST also have in your home a âMatter Hubâ capable product from Google or Alexa respectively.I spent almost a full time week, googling, trying various things, getting frustrated, and I would rate myself a 9/10 on expertise in this area. Until I learned the best trick. You HAVE to FULLY commit if you want to move to the Matter, protocol and I think you SHOULD. Even if you do at first get it working without this drastic step, I think you are just pushing hidden problems into the future. Start FRESH.All those smart home rules, profiles, pairings, etc you have built over the years – you should DELETE THEM ALL, and FACTORY RESET ALL your smart home devices. Delete your ENTIRE home profile. Start over completely. Drastic yes. But just like it is much easier to build a quality new home from scratch, rather than patchy renovations to an existing home, the same applies to a smart home when moving to a very different technology, in this case âMatterâ.If you want to get into the Matter ecosystem, and I think any serious smart home enthusiast SHOULD, you have to understand that you are much more on your own right now than by sticking with a current proprietary ecosystem. The attempt to make Matter work with many different platforms, means the ability for product manufacturers, and Ecosystems – like Apple, Google, or Alexa support, to assist you is very limited, even when they want to.One MORE step. Do the same with your router. FACTORY RESET. It also plays a core essential role in the reliability of your smart home. If you have a cheap router you should really consider something higher end. When I took the deep dive, and started from scratch, I was able to set up all my Matter devices with ease. Another suggestion – just because matter claims to be able to support multiple home ecosystems out of the box, DONâT do that. You are asking for trouble, Pick 1 like HomeKit as I did, or Google Home, or Alexa, or SmartThings, or other platforms, and do EVERYTHING on that ONE platform. Also install the manufacturer specific apps for direct control of your devices, outside of any ecosystem. Reduce complexity, donât embrace it.â¨â¨Yes, Matter is still quite frustrating, but most of the issues should be solvable through updated ecosystem software and product firmware. I still believe it will become THE standard, likely the ONLY standard in the future. So unless you need features not yet supported by Matter, I think Matter devices are worth the initial pain, to future proof your investment.Hope that helps !

Great price for these Matter dimmers. Was worried that the quality and/or functionality would suffer. first experience with Matter devices on Hubitat. Works great. Easy install. Setup was easy. First add Matter device with Alexa app, then go to settings for the device in Alexa and select to add it to another system. Alexa generates a code which you enter in Hubitat when adding the matter device there. Easy peazie, lemon squeezie. They react very quickly to voice commands via Alexa and can be fully accessed and controlled in Hubitat. Tempted to replace some of my zigbee and zwave switches at that price to have a more consistent experience throughout our house. I just wish they made a Matter 3-way switch…….. and maybe a multi-button controller switch…

These smart WiFi dimmer switches have been a fantastic addition to my home! Theyâre easy to install and allow me to control my lights from anywhere using my phone. The dimming feature works smoothly, letting me set the perfect mood lighting. Plus, they integrate seamlessly with voice assistants for hands-free control. Highly recommend for anyone looking to upgrade to smart lighting!

TP-link will require neutral wire to work. Also â know if you are installing for single pole or 3-way. Buy the right switch.what happens if you only have one black one white one copper. In this situation, most likely you do not have a neutral wire (white). If you are not sure ask for electrician. Not to combine neutral wire with ground wire. All neutrals are usually bundled under one wire nut, as well as Live Line if they are being split.Double check donât connect white wire to black wire â by accident when working with little light â you wonât realize the error until you turn the switch off from circuit braker. It will potentially damage installed dimmer. I am glad I did this error I decided to invest in Tplink smart switch instead replacing with a non-smart dimmer.Dimming capability is good. I had no flicker. It can go lower in dimming than other traditional dimmers.Good product, outer plastic is better quality than inner plastic. Expected to see more product options available for matter connectivity, and option for LAN vs wifi.Currently I . I am planning to connect to Samsung smarthings in phone or Ecco show 5 Alexa.

Bought these to replace another brand that were becoming unreliable due to poor server/cloud support. The Kasa app provides flexible scheduling options and so far I am very pleased with the performance of both the hardware and software. Installation was straightforward and pairing to the native Kasa app, Apple Home, and Alexa was a breeze. I plan on buying more.
