they are cool but…
it’s a nice thing to have but before you buy it make sure you don’t have a ceiling fan. if you are anything like me and like to have the fan on 24/7 this will not work because, like your regular light switch, it will turn the ceiling fan and light off. the reason I gave it 5 stars is that it was my mistake for not realizing that the product itself works very well and is very easy to install as long as you understand very basic wiring. simply red and black wire. The switch works great with my Alexa too.

Love this switch. Replaced a conventional switch which controlled the landscape lighting in the front yard. The switch was out of the way in a side room and we wanted the lighting to be automatically on at dusk and off around bedtime ( so the lighting didnât come through the windows). This works perfectly because you can schedule the on/off or turn them on and off from your phone so we donât have to get out of bed and run downstairs. Installation was easy, just connect the wires like any other switch. Maybe 10 mins. We have another Kasa plug for our back porch lights and they operate the same way. Sure easy and seamless and all on the same app

Easy wiring but confusing integration
Iâm in the process of replacing many Z-Wave switches with ones directly compatible with the Alexa devices and was intrigued by these new Matter compatible devices. The older (pre-Matter) switches were very easy to install and integrate with the Alexa app quite quickly. This one isnât as easy as the online documentation is very confusing, indicating in some places to integrate it first with the KASA app, and in others to use Alexa first. The KASA app integration always worked fine and was quick, however then following the instructions for Alexa wouldnât work. I then reset the device and tried integrating it to Alexa first. The first 5 times failed, then the 6th succeeded and it worked from the Alexa app for about 12 hours then disappeared.I tried again about 7 more times to get it to integrate to Alexa and each time it looked like it was working, it would say the WiFi password was incorrect (it wasnât).In one last attempt before returning it as not-working, I reset it again and integrated it first with the KASA app. It integrated right away so rather than following the instructions for adding it to Alexa via the app I just said âAlexa find my new devicesâ and it did! Itâs been working for over 24 hours straight now and continues to be controllable through both the KASA app and Alexa. So the lesson learned is: Integrate first with the KASA app and let Alexa take it from there!

Really great switch
I needed to control my lights while I was away, so decided to jump into home kit. Opted for this as it was matter certified and the install seemed dead simple. Thankfully, it was. Took me 5 min to install and setup. I think I spent most of the time getting the switch aligned with the other switch as I am a little OCD for that stuff, but setup wise works perfectly. App is nice, but I only use it for things like firmware, otherwise will use the home app (setup was equally easy).It does come with a QR code to scan, but I had to stick it on the side. Wish it was attached to the front.The plate it comes with is nice and sturdy. Overall, very nice. Just wish there was a 3 way from Kasa that was HomeKit capable so I could stick with one app.

Very easy to install, works great
I was replacing 2 older style light timers that had to be programmed using front buttons. This was so easy to install. Connect the wires, download the app, follow the instructions in the app. Program the on/off times. Done! Price is less than the old fashioned timers and will automatically adjust for DST. Couldn’t be happier.

Easy to Install and Reliable
I have many Kasa smart switches in my home and have been using them for a few years without issues. This one replaced a different brand that had a high rate of failure for me. The installation is easy, and they provide everything you need to get it connected.If you pair it with your Apple HomeKit, you will need a QR code. I was frustrated because I could not find it anywhere. It ended up being in the box. If you have the same frustrations, turn the box upside down, and it will fall out. 🙂 Once you have that QR code, the setup is a breeze.

I was afraid of an electrical shock, but it was really easy even when i don’t have any knowledge in electrical stuff. It work very well and I didn’t need any additional complex tool to install it.I just have an issue trying to connect to Home Kit or in the Matter way. Seems like you have to choose just one metod.

After installing the switch, the lights were too dim to see. Replaced with no tech switch and the lights went on brighter. Switching switches shouldnât be that complicated. Maybe it was defective but Iâll never try one again.

I donât know why I waited so long to buy these! I bought them for our outdoor lights. We had it installed by an electrician because we were having other work completed. Electrician set it up in less than half an hour. We easily connected it to the app which provides us with total control of the lights and we set it up on an automatic timer. Itâs a game changer! No more forgetting to turn the lights off when I race off to work in the morning. We liked it so much we bought more to use on other parts of the house. I totally recommend this product.
