Great smart plug, company, App and price!
I got my first TP-LINK Kasa plug (There does seem to be several seperate Kasa or TP-LINK brands, I only own TP-LINK Kasa devices, referred to from here on out as just Kasa in this review) bundled with an Echo Dot. I had used WEMO plugs, and figured what problem is 1 non-WEMO plug going to do? Well, it caused me to replace every non Kasa device with Kasa devices!Shortly after I got this, we bought a new home. I packed everything up and set it up at new home. Internet and WiFi settings were different, and I had to re-setup everything, I mean everything! This is were I fell in love with Kasa. The WEMO app had been nice enough when originally setting up, but when it came to having to delete/re-connect things, the WEMO tested the limits of my patience, multiple times. I finally had to delete even the WEMO app and reinstall it. The Kasa app just seemed to flow better, smoother, easier. The Kasa had everything wiped out and setup back up with new name, device icon and label in no time, and then pumped it into Alexa! (I have the Echo Show 10″ with built-in Zigbee Smart hub) It had more options when it came to labeling and device icons (what you see when accessing through a smart device like Alexa, Google Home, etc). The plugs I use for lamps or lighting, I like to show as a light bulb, and WEMO just couldn’t or wouldn’t let me do that. The Kasa plugs are half the size of my WEMO’s. They don’t block the other plug outlet. They have an independent on/off switch, so you can manually turn on/off plug power.I had multiple WEMO devices, and replaced them with Kasa equals. I am so happy with the ease of use of the app, smooth integration with Alexa Smart Home and overall operations that I just ordered the first pair of Kasa Spot wireless outdoor cameras to integrate into our home security system! I would highly recommend the TP-LINK Kasa mini smart plugs! The app is great too! I was not paid or compensated for this review.

Works great!
I had no problem setting up or using. No connectivity issues so far either. Only down side is they are a little big, but I understand this being an engineer myself. If you want high power then you need the space. To pack it in a smaller package would make it more expensive and possibly less reliable. Some reviews complain about it getting burnt. This is most likely due to people exceeding the 10A rating. This is good for low power things people, not floor heaters or coffee pots. Lamps/lights, fans, etc are what I consider low power. All electronic devices usually state their maximum power consumption on them. If you are not sure then do it at your own risk. Lights are always easy to ascertain for power ratings. If you are powering a lamp with a 120W bulb then you just do the math. Here in the US the standard AC output is 115VAC RMS @ 60Hz. Just divide the wattage by the voltage and you get the current. A standard 120W bulb will draw ~1A and is therefore safe to use with this smart outlet. Consider a 1400W heather though, it is pulling nearly 12A, not safe to use. I also use a 3 way with one these to simultaneously control 3 LED signs. This is also okay as long as the combined current of all 3 devices does not exceed the 10A current rating. As an engineer though I never like to get close to the max rating and prefer to at least de-rate by 20%. That being said, I would not push more than 8A through these outlets.

WiFi outlets work well
I have several types of these outlets, these 103’s, some 115’s and 125’s. These 103’s give run time, the 115’s give run time and several kwh measurements, and the 125’s give even more energy info. Pick how much info you want for a given spot and get the lowest price on that offers that. The 103’s and 115’s offer the ability to substite your own photo for the icon, the 125 only offers some pre picked icons, no choice of your own icon-photo. Also there is no way to rearrange the order of the list displays, so you can’t group these into a specific order, according to the seller. Overall, I like these outlets, and you do have the ability to add light switches to the same Kasa app too.

Highly Recomended
I have about 20 of these by now. Easy to setup and IMO getting smart plugs is smarter than smart bulbs. I plug every lamp in my house up to one of these. All bedrooms have two bedside table lamps that go into a standard power strip and then I plug the strip into one of these so both lights come on together. The app is great and has nice widgets to manage all the plugs from main screen on phone. Cant think of a single issue I have had with them.

I have 3 of these and an outdoor plug of the same brand which run all my Christmas lights this year it has made life so much easier compared to the old dial timers and switchesThe kasa app syncs easily with other home products my smart things control built in to my Samsung was just a matter of signing in and giving permissions to kasa with the Android Auto in the car I can check on the status override a scheduled on or off all while on the go also paird very well with my google home system making voice commands from any room easy to accomplish I will be adding more and more kasa products to my smart home upgrades, for a few simple reasons ease of use, functionality, and user friendly interface on the app and shear quality have earned a 10/10 from me**The picture included is only the outside plug all the rest were added to Indoor lights I.E. the tree and other windows in the front**

Kasa Smart Plugs are handy little gadgets that let you control electronic devices from a distance using an app. They are handy, inexpensive, and fun. We use them for lights. The nice thing about having it connected to an app is that both my husband and I could turn the lights on and off whenever we wanted and we could do it from anywhere in our home â great for those times when you go to bed and then remember that you accidentally left the lights on downstairs. The other really nice thing about the app is that you can group different plugs together so that you can turn multiple items on or off at the same time. We created a group for the kitchen lights and the living room lamp. Now when we are ready to turn in for the night, we just turn them all off at once with the push of a button and head upstairs.Itâs really easy to set up the plugs and the app and reprogram them if you decide to use them for something else. Come Christmastime, we will use one for the tree but itâs nice to know that we can use them for other things during the rest of the year.Plus they are fun to use because you can pretend youâre magic. So thereâs that.

unlike what many iOS users complained here, I found installation very very easy. It couldn’t have taken more than 1-2 minutes. It does ask for account set up for which you have to provide your email address.Timer works great which I use all the time with my table lamp plugged into it. When I go to bed, I set it to go off after about an hour so that by the time I am completely asleep the light would be off as well. I live in a condo that is relatively large in size, but I can control all the plugs from any distance as they are connected thru home router. You can set the app to turn on AND turn off the plug, and the app will decide your location and figure out the relatively accurate timing of sunset and sunrise so that on/off can be set accordingly.Definitely would recommend this product for its ease of installation and use and various cool functions!
