The Kidde Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, WiFi, Alexa Compatible Device, Hardwired w/Battery Backup, Voice & App Alerts, model P4010ACSCO-WF, uses photoelectric sensor technology to detect visible fire particles, associated with smoldering fires, and alerts you by sounding an 85-decibel alarm with voice alert announcing “Fire! Fire!” or “Warning! Carbon Monoxide!”. The Kidde smart hardwired combo alarm connects to your home’s wiring using standard 120V AC power voltage and provides battery backup in the event of a power failure. The built-in lithium battery backup lasts the 10-year life of the alarm, so you’ll have the benefit of never having to replace a battery. Update-to-date, real-time notifications are provided through the Kidde app, so your family & friends – even the pet sitter – can monitor your home’s air quality & received alerts to smoke or CO presence, high humidity levels that can lead to mold, unexpected high or low temperatures, or Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs). Setup is easy: simply download the Kidde app and scan the QR code at the back of the combination alarm. You can also use voice commands to check the connection & status of carbon monoxide or air quality by pairing it with your Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and select iPhone & Android smart devices. The LED ring-light indicator alerts you to the unit’s operational status: red = a smoke, fire, or hazard, amber = operating error, and green = normal operation. The Test-Hush button silences temporary nuisance alarms, tests if the unit is operating properly, and silences a low battery or end-of-life chirp (up to 24 hours at a time for a maximum of 7 days). Install a smoke & carbon monoxide combination detector on each level of your home and inside and outside each bedroom. The Kidde smoke & CO detector is capable of hardwired interconnection to other select Kidde alarms for whole-home activation – when one alarm sounds, they all do**. UL Listed with a 10-Year limited manufacturer warranty on the alarm only (not a battery performance claim). Warranty begins when the alarm is powered on. If that date is unknown, it should be assumed that replacement is needed.**Alarms only connect with select Kidde alarms that have hardwired AC interconnect capability (see User Guide).
Voice Alarm announces the hazard type when detected: “Fire!” = smoke or fire, “Warning! Carbon Monoxide!” = CO, or “Replace Alarm” when the unit has come to its end of life span
Easy Installation: download the Kidde app & scan the QR code on the back of the smoke alarm
Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, iPhone, & Android smart devices
85-decibel alarm & LED warning indicators alert you to various status: green = normal operation, amber = operating error, and red = smoke, fire or carbon monoxide event
WiFi enabled technology allows notifications to be sent to your smartphone (as well as friends & family) in the event of a smoke or CO hazard in your home
Photoelectric sensor technology detects visible fire particles associated with smoldering fires
Test-Hush Button easily tests the working operation of the smoke alarm & silences false alarms; the Kidde app can also be used to test the smoke & CO combo alarm
UL Listed with a 10-Year limited manufacturer warranty on the alarm only (not a battery performance claim). Warranty begins when the alarm is powered on. If that date is unknown, it should be assumed that replacement is needed.
Customers say
Customers like the ease of installation of the gas smoke fire alarm. They mention it’s simple to connect to Wi-Fi and an easy upgrade for existing Kidde detectors. However, some customers have reported that the alarms keep going off for no reason, the app is glitchy, and the value for money is poor. Opinions are mixed on its functionality.

Great way to monitor home from anywhere
Easy to connect to Wifi and configure. Monitors smoke along with air quality. Also lets you know if your Wifi goes down. Purchased several compatible Kidde non-Wifi detectors and wired together so if one goes off, they all go off. Very nice solution.

Horrible! Buyer Beware!!!
I have given this product one star only because I cannot give it zero. It is the worst smoke detector Iâve ever had. Originally bought this item in March after moving to my new home. I chose this brand because there were already two existing smoke detectors. I installed it and a week later it failed to work properly and kept false alarming at all hours of the day and night. I couldnât bus or reset the device unless I totally disconnected it from the power supply line. I returned it and got an exchange in replacement. I installed the replacement device. A month later the pre-existing devices started false alarming. I could hush and reset them from the app. About two weeks ago I was away at a conference. I received a text message from my dog sitter. She stated when she arrived that all the alarms were going off. I had not gotten an alert in the app. She stated that she tried to reset them, but she could not get them to stop alarming. I opened up the app to see if I could reset them. Unfortunately, I could not by this time my animals were going crazy. The dog sitter was at her wits end and I was disgusted. I asked that she please just disconnect the devices from the power source. She removed two of the devices however she could not reach the third one that itâs in the upstairs hallway as it was too high for her to be able to reach even with a stepstool. That is one of The existing devices. When I returned home from my business trip, I attempted to troubleshoot the devices to no avail. Over the past two weeks the one remaining device has been alarming at all hours of the day and night for seemingly no reason. I have dusted it. I have vacuumed it. I made sure that there was no humidity affecting it, I kept my house at a steady 76° temperature. It keeps alarming for no reason. Yesterday while having out-of-town company, the two disconnected devices begin alarming for no apparent reason. When would go off it would set the other two this has been nothing but a literal headache. I have decided to take all three of them down. I have deactivated them entirely. By doing so they cannot be used again. Once you turn the battery power off it essentially deactivates the device and itâs no longer serviceable. At this point all I wanted to do was shut off the noise . I have decided to go with an entirely different brand as this one literally is a headache. Save yourself the trouble and try something else.

Love The Peace of Mind
I love this device. It is so nice to not have to worry when we are on vacation. However, the app can be a little glitchy. Never had an issue with it not alerting me, however.

Easy upgrade for existing Kidde detector
Mount & plug were exactly the same as a failed base model Kidde detector installed by our builder and installing this one took about 30 seconds.

Cost effective worry and hassle free
I had been searching for a 2-wire WiFi compatible smoke detector / carbon monoxide / air quality alarms for ages and ages and was pleased to have finally found this device from a trusted name like KIDDE.Installation was a breeze when replacing an existing older 2-wire model. Twist and remove old device, unplug, remove mount (2 screws), install phone app, scan qr on back of new device, install new mount (2 screws), pull device battery tab, plug-in, twist into place, connect new device to WiFi using the app.I installed a total of 6 of the standard smoke alarms, a couple of the smoke / carbon monoxide, and a couple of the air quality devices and can now worry less. These devices are LOUD. They will wake your entire neighborhood up.They come with a 10 year lithium battery! The app is simple.All-in-all I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend to other people wanting to continue building their smart home.

Warning â ï¸ Emits High Pitch Noise
Ordered one to replace a none wifi unit in the kitchen. It works well but took a few attempts to connect to the wifi, so far no false alarms. Decided to get another one when they went on sale. Then another one. So far so good except when I put one in my daughters bedroom. After a couple nights she begged me to take it out because it was making a very high pitch noise all the time. I put a non wifi one in and the noise went away. This noise was confirmed by myself and two other people. Bottom line they work but I can’t recommend them for a bedroom application.

Very easy to install and connect to Wi-Fi
I had two smoke detectors fail and so I wanted to replace them with Wi-Fi enabled ones. These were super easy to install and connected to Wi-Fi with no hassle at all. Best of all, I can use them with Google, I don’t have to use the Kidde app if I don’t want to.

App logs you out and push notifications do not work
Q: Why would you want a WIFI-connected smoke, fire, and CO alarm integrated with an app on your smart phone? A: So you will be notified if an alarm sounds while you are away. After 7 days of inactivity (not looking at the App at least once a week), you will be logged out of the smart phone app and the push notifications on your phone will no longer happen. The smoke, fire, and CO alarm was easy to install – uses the same three pin connector as the old hard-wired detector. Installing the smart phone app and connecting the device was straight forward. After a month of being installed, we started getting middle-of-the-night false alarms – just two or three loud beeps, followed by “Fire, Fire!” but no push notifications. You log in to the app (user name and password) to see there was an alarm. A few days later, you get a push notification when it happens again. Then if the next one is 8 days later – no alert on your phone because the app logs you out automatically after 7 days. There is no benefit to having a wifi enabled device if this feature doesn’t work past 7 days without actively logging in again. 1 star for a waste of time and money. Plus the false alarms are annoying.
