Works beautifully!
This works beautifully. Hides my skin flaws, lightweight and easy to use. My face looks fresh and bright. It is a powder, even though, they call it a foundation. When you open it, the loose powder flies everywhere just like any powder does. It should come with a brush or pad. I also would say it does show wrinkles because you canât stop time, but doesnât show them as much as a liquid foundation does. I am 65 and stopped using foundation, but I am wearing this and really like it.

Big pro, bigger con
First, I love this product. It gives natural coverage, gives you beautifully natural skin without looking like youâre wearing it. Now that being said! The issue I have is that it sweats off. Very easily. I live in Washington state, & we went for a walk around the neighborhood, & it was a cool morning. You know that little bit of perspiration you get where your glasses sit on your nose? That entire area was gone when I got home. Everywhere else was fine, but you could see that there was missing powder because when it does get damp, like sweating, it changes texture & it looks watery on the skin so blotting it away leaves marks. Later that same day I sneezed & that little bit of spittle humans sometimes get on our chin after a sneeze, just a small drop & when I touched the tissue to blot it, the powder was there on the tissue. So I will wear this when Iâm staying home in a temperature-controlled environment, but if Iâm leaving the house to run errands, I will stick with my Bare Minerals. I transplanted from the horrible, miserable Texas, & there it wouldnât have lasted walking from your house to your car. So hot climates, donât bother. I now understand, though, why the ads have women sitting in their cars doing their makeup, because it doesnât have staying power. But I feel really pretty at home, itâs an easy application with little time needed, & because I stay home more than any self-respecting home body, Iâll use it here.

My new holy grail!
I was looking for a powder foundation that wouldn’t cake on my dry skin and fine lines. I’m 46 so the matte look doesn’t thrill me anymore, it only accentuates my issues. I tried some of the drug store brands and it felt like those were just extra-pigmented, cakey powder. So, I hunted on Amazon using the search-words “powder foundation for dry skin”.The color I ordered is “fair” and I am normally a bit more light-medium in my foundation shades, but I noticed reviews stating they should have ordered a shade lighter. So, I ordered the Laura Gellar “Baked Balance N Brighten” powder foundation in “fair” and it matched me exactly. The quality in pan is silky and stable. My brush picked it up easily and I got the perfect payoff on my skin. Skin feel is unnoticeable. Coverage is the big winner here- absolutely flawless coverage. Like, concealer level coverage of redness and uneven areas, and it just floats on top of fine lines. As the day went on, the coverage only improved! My face maintained a gleaming mineral finish. 10/10 with a perfect price point.

Porcelain is too light, Fair is too dark
I really wanted to like this powder– If there was a color that worked for my skin tone, I would! I’m fair but not like, alabaster, with cool undertones. I can usually find my right shade one step from the lightest (depending on how many shades in the product line). I saw a couple other reviews that said the Fair was too dark, and I should have believed them! With warm undertones it might be worth a shot, but if your ancestors came from chilly, overcast countries like mine you should believe it too: the Fair is Too. Dark. It turned surprisingly orangey on me as well, so the color-correcting is… not correcting? Or can only do so much. So, though typically anything called ‘porcelain’ is too light for me, I went ahead and ordered that shade, fingers crossed. And though it’s closer than I would have thought, it’s just too pale. AND it’s quite pink! Too pink. Weird pink. I’m not someone who has the time/energy to blend the two, even if I thought the orange and pink could make peace with one another (I don’t). So I’m disappointed that neither works on its own, because I liked the formula otherwise. Goes on very smooth and feels light, has respectable staying power. I have textured/lightly discolored acne scars on my cheeks, and this provides good medium coverage over those areas and really does seem to blur the fine lines. I am just gobsmacked, though, that Laura Geller doesn’t offer a color in between these two, as I would never in a million years call them neighboring shades.

Nice balancing color. First order…the box was empty. I received the 2nd purchase product yesterday and it is a very lightweight but full coverage.

After using the same foundation for the past 10 years, it was time for a change. The foundation I used in my 40âs no longer looked good in my 50âs and sat in my fine lines or made my skin look caked & dry.Iâd done lots of research into different brands and it was a choice between Jones Road or Laura Geller. After watching a lot of videos, reviews & tutorials decided to give LG a go as it was less expensive.Iâve always brought make up in store but was reassured by their free returns/exchange policy incase the shade wasnât right.I also liked the fact that they were Cruelty Free – something that was important to me but not immediately obvious on their website, I had to do some research to find this out (Laura Geller youâre missing a trick here!)I was pleased with the packaging and how the product looked but was really impressed with how the actual product worked for me.Iâve found dabbing a little on at a time with a big brush helps build the coverage to your liking. It definitely doesnât sit in my fine lines and doesnât look cakey. You can achieve a natural look easily and itâs long lasting. It definitely covers the redness on my nose & cheeks.Iâve been so impressed with this I ordered the next shade down too as my skin colour changes in winter in the UK when I lose my tan.I also ordered the Baker Starter Kit direct from LG in the USA as the discount was better. Iâve been beyond impressed with this. As a blonde with pinky tones, the colour choices are perfect and the products stay put. Iâve never been able to blend eyeshadow effectively but this colour combo and product makes me look like a pro!!So, a big YES for Laura Geller from the UK for me, great value for money and great products which are easy to use and compliment mature skin beautifully!
