This is perfect for a dance party in the living room! It puts out a variety of colors and patterns and fills up a large space. Great deal!

Fun, functional, inexpensive
It’s smaller than I expected. Light weight. Puts out a lot of light, though. Mine came in a retail box with plastic bags over the lamp and the remote. There also a plastic tab in the remote battery door and the instructions advise you to keep that in there when you’re not using the lamp in order to preserve the battery. Apparently, the battery will drain while sitting in the remote unused. It comes with a small instruction sheet indicating what all the buttons and modes are. While it’s simply to use, I found it took a moment to understand the lamp. The bass pulse of the music has to hit the sensor at a certain minimum volume to induce the lamp to change colors with the beat. So lamp placement and music volume are key to getting the lamp to function optimally. This lamp prefers to listen to a subwoofer. It needs a solid, clear beat to follow. Without that, it simply cycles through its default show at a default rate.The remote is IR so you have to aim the remote directly at the lamp for the remote to work.For DJ work, you can hold the remote and change modes manually to create variety. Unfortunately, this is not programmable. You can adjust the speed of the strobe, but you have to do it manually. You can’t pre-program changes. So if a song starts and you want the strobe to match the beat, you’ll either have to prepare the strobe tempo to match that individual song before you start the show or you’ll be adjusting the strobe tempo on the fly while the music changes. That, of course, will make you look like a total rookie. The motor rotation speed can be adjusted also via the same button set that’s used to adjust strobe tempo. During the strobe, you can adjust strobe tempo. During the light change mode, you can adjust the speed of the motor. Adjusting the motor speed, adjusts the speed of the physical rotation of the lights. It does not adjust the rate at which the colors change. Color changes are controlled by the musical beat or by you manually changing them with the remote. There are about 7 different light colors that cycle: red; green; blue; red and green; red and blue; green and blue; red, green, and blue. Each of these color sets has its button on the remote. The remote also has a dedicated Strobe button that toggles the strobe mode ON/OFF. The remote also has tempo (speed, rate, whatever you want to call it) Up/Down buttons. Aside from strobe, there are 3 different light shows to choose from and each has its own button. I think the remote was designed for a DJ to control this lamp manually with as much ease as possible. Of course, the remote also features a Power button. When you plug the lamp in, it turns on automatically so you need the power button on the remote to shut it off until you’re ready to start the show.At the time of this writing, I paid about $14 on Amazon for this light and use make dance parties for my daughter and her friends. For what I use it for, it was totally worth the price. If I was still DJ’ing wedding receptions and corporate parties, I’d invest in a professional grade, programmable light show. This is perfect for casual, non-commercial use. If you tossed in a little bubble machine and/or maybe a little smoke machine with this, you could blow people’s minds at private parties!

It does the Job!!
I bought this light ball to make bath time more fun for my kids! The lights are pretty strong and can reach my living room ceiling 👏🏼Next, it seems sturdy enough to last for a couple years. I say this because the plastic that moves around the light for you to hang it didn’t seem sturdy enough. They are okay, like I said for a couple years if used daily. It’s very light! The length of the cord is average but won’t be longer than 5ft.I did like the little remote control they give you because you can select patterns and colors or the speed of the lights. My husband and I thought that was the coolest thing. 😎Overall is a good light for the cost. It’s not the highest quality but it will do the job. I would buy more if need for things like Halloween or maybe a new years party hosted at my house but not to be used professionally.
