These work great for camping or skiing!!!
We love these walkie talkies as they are so much fun and functional at the same time; not just as toys but also get the job done when we go out on camping trips especially to those areas where there is no cellphone reception, these work very well. We also take them on Skiing trips upto the mountains to communicate with the littles ones as well as the other members in the group. I know a friend who used them on a cross-country multi-family RV tour; and they have used only these walkie-talkies exclusively to communicate with each other on the highway to make stops for gas/food as there was no cellphone coverage for miles and these devices have a decent range when on a flat terrain and about a mile or two when there is not a lot of obstructions.One of the nicest features is that they can be paired with any other brand walkie-talkies as long as they are on the same channel and they have quite a few channels to choose from to eliminate any kind of cross talk. The volume and the voice quality from these things is pretty good and they also don’t use a whole lot of battery but having extra AA batteries is always a good idea. I carry extra rechargeable batteries with me and it’s not a problem.Overall, these are very good and you can’t go wrong. We have purchased couple pairs to give it to each family member during trips.

Works perfectly for what I need!
I’m a fulltime live-in caretaker for my grandma, and got these as a way to communicate easier when we weren’t in the same room of the house. They’re simple enough for her to figure out and use easily, plus the locking feature means it’s very difficult for her to accidentally change the settings!The only thing I would change would be a longer battery life, as since we keep them on 24/7 we’re replacing the batteries every 3 or 4 days (3 AA batteries each) which gets expensive, but they give enough warning to me to replace them so we’re never without as long as I pay attention and since they are technically kids’ toys I’m not surprised at the short battery life! The more advanced walkie talkies with longer battery life are definitely way too complicated for my grandma to use, so I’m happy to buy batteries extra often instead of having to run up and check on her every time I hear a noise– which, most things I hear that I think are her are actually the neighbors or the wind, but 1/10 times she really does need something so I could never NOT check.These mean I have a chance to relax or get something else done without jumping up and down multiple times an hour and annoying both of us, so it’s really well worth the money– and for their actual purpose as kids’ toys, I think as long as the children in question want something like this and aren’t ready for a technically advanced device, it will serve perfectly well– plus I’m sure the batteries will last longer if they can get turned off at the end of play time! Plus they seem very durable, as my grandma and I have both dropped ours a number a times with no ill effects, not even accidentally popping the back offIf these last me six months like they have been without getting worn out at the level I’m using them, and remain at the same or similar price, I’d consider it worth it to replace them if necessary at that point.
