Good camera
Decent camera. Even in battery mode and all the features maxed out the battery life is good. Itâs solar connected but even at night it doesnât drain more than 1-3%

Another Great Ring Product
Another great product and we love the new 3D motion detection option. Very easy to use, program and install. The bird’s eye view is an excellent feature and works much like the feature on our vehicles. The camera comes in a newer configuration with a solid casing built around the camera.

CAMERA IS GOOD, BUT MIS-INFORMATION ON PROTECTION PLANS
Ordered the “wired” camera and it works fine. Have the Ring Protect Plus. Rec’d a trial of the SOS feature. Then showed it was deactivated and if wanted I would have to upgrade to the Protect Pro, which I did. That plan, if paid for a year, is $200.00. When I tried to activate the SOS, it was at that time I learned it doesn’t work unless you have their Professional Alarm program at $99.00 p/month making this about $1400.00 p/year. Cheaper to dial 911. I had to call customer service, get them to xl the plan and put me back to the Protect Plus and refund my credit card. In talking with RING, all seemed to dodge around needing the extra program and the information given is not forthcoming that, in fact, you need still the $99.00 p/month in order to have the SOS which the Protect Pro at a cost of $200.00 p/year bumps the overall cost up. I have a wired alarm system, monitored already. Would have been nice to have the SOS function.

Easy set up
The camera was a little confusing on how to hang on ceiling. Had to actually look at a video to get it up right. Aerial view is not as clear as the other ring cams I have installed

RETURNED!!!
This product “IS” defective. The ball and socket that allows the camera to move in different horizontal and vertical directions would not move. It was locked. I bought the same product from Best Buy a week later and the SAME THING was the case. I quick check on Google and this design from Ring appears to be defective widespread. I am posting this in November of 2024 after my experience in October of 2024 and don’t know if Ring resolved the problem or not. This is a Ring issue, not an Amazon issue. Amazon refunded my purchase.

A terrific addition to the Ring family of devices!
I needed a simple-to-install wireless video surveillance camera for my back yard that would work with my existing Ring video doorbell setup. After watching some tech videos on YouTube and researching various articles, the Ring Stick Up Cam Pro with its accompanying solar charging panel quickly became the most obvious solution. I was able to get everything unboxed, installed, and working in under 45 minutes. The Ring mobile app makes the whole process very easy overall. The camera, solar panel, and accompanying components are all extremely well made and should last a long time. And with all the newest and greatest features, the Stick Up Cam Pro and solar charging option are truly ideal for monitoring my backyard/deck security. I can’t think of a single complaint thus far. Definitely highly recommended!

HARD TO INSTALL, LAG BETWEEN RECORDING, NO ALERTS, Scammy Ring Plans, NO customer support
I struggled with installation – took me about an hour, and I have 4 extra holes now in the door frame that needs to be spackled and repainted so I ruined the door. There is NO instructions with this, just crappy pictures on this tiny little booklet and you have to guess what they are (I had to google a few of them). There was no information at all about distance, how high to put it, what angles would work best, nothing… Then after finding on google that there was an alternative mount behind a silicone plug, I was finally able to installAnd now I find that the most basic features that I expected to be included (since they are listed in the product description here and on their site) are NOT included. There is NO information anywhere that explains exactly what you get WITHOUT a Ring plan. After research I found that you donât get any video recordings without a plan, only live view when something triggers an alert.Their chat is only with “Ring Community”.Still captures are apparently a known issue that has been happening for years and was never fixed. Found that out when I saw that my scheduled hourly still shots were not being captured. Still shots only happened when I opened the app. Since they have no customer support, I assume they also do not provide fixes or updates that would fix this issue. Also there is a major lag between recordings, it struggles a lot to behave like a security cam should behave. I walked in front of the door, took maybe 6-7 sec. before I heard a chime on my phone, then walked away. Came back a min. later and nothing. No chime. No recording. Nothing happened at all. So in a real situation, someone could wave their arm from around the corner (because there is a wall that blocks our door, so the pathway is hidden) so they could wave their arm, wait a little bit, then break into my door without ever being recorded and no alert to me at all. After more research on Google I found out there was a security screw (took a while to find it) and was able to finally secure the camera to the mounting plate and secure the battery compartment – phew! This was not a 5 minute install but I think I got it now.Update : after a few weeks i noticed the same lag happens consistently where I walk out the door, hear a chime on my phone, then walk out of site and come back about 15 seconds later and thereâs no chime and no recording. Also not very happy with the âBirds Eye viewâ itâs not wide enough. I have it installed about eye level so I can see someoneâs face if they come to the door. It does not capture movement until they are almost directly in front of the door though. The range isnât wide enough to capture someone on the side path coming to the door. Another thing I noticed is the âpre-rollâ is black and white and grainy and the usually kicks in to HD color at night and without that pre-roll you canât see the beginning of the movement. HD is not as clear as Iâd like, not like a phone camera for instance.

I have this camera set up on my carport/driveway, definitely recommend. I have bought extra batteries so very easy to swap when going flat.I also have many Alexa speakers throughout my house where I can have one or all connected to my ring cameras, so lets me know if thereâs motion âmotion in the drivewayâ plus one in the carport (hopefully to scare off any intruder) or if youâre watching tv with your firestick, it will also alert you.Definitely recommend Ring cameras, I have this and the doorbell and it doesnât disappoint 10/10
