Good product but needs a small upgrade
The product functions well and has a way to tighten the locking mechanism. That is a nice feature to lock in your pattern for the transfer process. I also use a wire version of this for other applications but this model is very useful. My only gripe is they give you a very thin Allen wrench but no place to store it. Stuff like this gets lost pretty easy and then you have to dig around for your set of wrenches to find one that fits. This is a pretty small wrench so I decided to put a small hole in the side of the plastic to provide a pressure fit storage hole on the tool. If they did that, it would go a long way for not losing the small tool.

I like this gauge. I reviewed contour gauges offered in the big box stores before checking out Amazon. Many reviews had complaints about inherent issues with gauges made with metal pins mainly that the pins fell out or bent. Other gauges couldn’t be locked to hold the pins while scribing the shape onto a piece of wood.These units were all much cheaper than the Saker model but clearly not worth buying. I read reviews about the Saker gauge and decided the price point was worth it. I received the Saker gauge the following day after ordering it. I tried it out a few times and found it to be quite good. The pins are plastic but seem quite substantial and take the shape of the contour needed quite easily. I was also impressed with the greeting from the manufacturer (photo included).I look forward to many years of use from this gauge.
