Scent of a Woman: Al Pacino delivers the performance of a lifetime in Scent of a Woman, the heart wrenching and heart-warming film that was nominated for 4 Academy Awards including Best Picture. Hoping to earn extra money over the Thanksgiving weekend, Charlie Simms (Chris O’Donnell), a scholarship student at an exclusive prep school, agrees to look after blind, retired Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade (Pacino). The innocent and reserved Simms is immediately thrown off guard by Slade’s bullying personality. Charlie is in for even more surprises when Slade takes off for a wild weekend in New York City that will change the lives of both men forever. Sea of Love: Al Pacino gives a powerful, critically acclaimed performance as veteran New York City police detective Frank Keller, a workaholic cop live on the edge in Sea of Love. Hunting a bizarre serial killer with his partner (John Goodman) he encounters a beautiful suspect (Ellen Barkin) and enters into a passionate affair with her, despite evidence linking her to the murders. Mounting suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat as Keller finds himself caught in an undercurrent of deception, seduction and betrayal in this highly charged thriller.

2 great movies on blu-ray
This isn’t all that special a blu-ray release, but it gives us two Pacino classics in one package. Not many frills. But that’s OK.

Such a beautiful movie set
Such a beautiful movie set, and it’s easily in my top ten. I’m reviewing more of Scent of a Woman than sea of Love at least until I watch that. Al Pacino puts on a performance of a lifetime and made a two and a half hour movie fly by. The famous tango scene is utterly remarkable and it has to be one of my favorite scenes ever as well. This movie left me in awe and I had to just take a few minutes after watching it to really come down from such an amazing experience.

Highly Recommend Both Movies.
Does it get any better than TWO Al Pacino movies on one dvd? 🙂 Both are awesome movies – Scent of a Woman is fun and sad and everything in between. Sea of Love is a thriller without all the gore and blood but keeps you on the edge of your seat. Warning – very steamy sex scenes between Ellen Barkin and Al Pacino in this one but oth well worth watching.

Scent of a Woman includes Al Pacino and features some future stars such as Chris O’Donnell, Gabrielle Anwar, and Philip Seymour Hoffman as well as Frances Conroy and Bradley Whitford. Unsure why named Scent of a Woman as it deals primary with a blind Pacino who befriends O’Donnell. Pacino is a bit of a womanizer and has a good smelling sense but if you didn’t read the description, you’d think it was more of a love story.Sea of Love is more of a love story as Pacino, as a detective, falls in love with a woman who may or may not be a serial killer. Not as good as Scent of a Woman but still quite good. Features a young Ellen Barkin plus John Goodman, Richard Jenkins and Michael Rooker in one of his earlier biggest roles.Scent of a Woman has quite a few extras while Sea of Love has really nothing.
