Great recipes!!
Bought this because I wanted the âRosemary and Goat Cheese Biscuitsâ recipe. (Wow, they were excellent!) This book is packed with appealing recipes, all with very clearly written, detailed instructions. Every recipe Iâve tried so far has come out as expected and been delicious. The recipes donât call for exotic hard to source ingredients. Itâs great to be able to bake a smaller amount for a small household. Glad I added this to my cookbook collection!

Sounds Heavenly
I love to bake. When I saw this book I knew it was for me. I just finished reading through the recipes and am ready to bake. The only problem is: what to try first! ðð They all sound delicious! I love the way the author makes you feel like you are her equal, even though she is a pastry chef and I am not! She is a winner in my book, as is her book!

Way Over My Head!
My first clue should have been baking in the title, but I felt adventurous and downloaded the book. The recipes all sound delicious. However, Iâm a girl who has trouble boiling water so any recipe that requires me to do more than pull crescent rolls out of the package – yup – like I said – way over my head. Others who cook will love the variety and selection.

Lacking images
If it wasn’t on sale for prime day then I wouldn’t have bought it. Yes it has some neat recipes and small batches are what I need. There’s nothing I dislike for the recipes. However I prefer cookbooks that have images of the completed recipe. The only images were at the beginning of sections. Sure it’s not the end of the world but for those of us who don’t know what a kouign-amann is, it would be nice to have an image already there instead of looking it up separately. I’ve also found images of the product tend to invoke more of a desire to make said product. I appreciate the authors efforts and the recipes, I just don’t care for the lack of imagery.

Exceptional writing style & creative abilities
By creating ‘Small Batch Baking’ with recipes for small quantities Saura Kline has encouraged me to try making things I had not tried before and, because of her clear instructions, helped me succeed at making some beautiful desserts that also tasted great! So far I have made the Rosemary Goat Cheese Biscuits, the Cherry Pistachio Streusel Pie and the Greek Yogurt Berry Pie.You can ask my husband. I have been trying to make really good biscuits for years. Saura’s recipe turned out better than anything I’ve tried. (pictured). As a bonus, the few biscuits we had left still tasted really good a couple of days later.Next I made the Cherry Pistachio Streusel Pie. It was a delicious combination of flavors and textures. I used frozen cherries since there are no fresh cherries in the store right now and will not hesitate use them again for this recipe. The pistachio’s enchanced the taste so much they were well worth the effort to purchase. The Greek Yogurt Berry Pie and the Buttery Shortbread that I have also made tasted great and I will definitely be making them again.Thank you Saura for creating this book with recipes in small quantities. Your writing style and creative abilities brighten the lives of others.
