Poor Choice if you need it for “secure” event app usage.
Bought this to evaluate it for use in Amateur Radio Exam Sessions using a secure launcher called Fully-Kiosk Browser. This tablet runs Android 12 “Go” version (Google influenced) and Fully-Kiosk will not work in “Full Kiosk” mode (fully secured web access to the exam site). Has other limitations, but haven’t bothered to investigate further since it will not satisfy my requirements for secure exam access for Amateur Radio Exam sessions. To say I am “disappointed” is an understatement! Amazon Fire 8 HD or Amazon 7 might be better choices, but not cost effective for my needs.

Functional, cheap, with faulty charge circuitry
I needed a cheap tablet to use as a glorified screen for a thermal camera. As long as it served that purpose, everything was icing on the cake. The thermal camera attached via USB-C, so that port type was a requirement. The tablet works well, and doesn’t seem to have any performance issues displaying thermal camera images. The video feed doesn’t stutter. The only issue I’ve had is when the device completely discharges to 0%. When that happens, it cannot be charged back up with more modern USB chargers since I suspect the USB-C PD negotiation fails to initialize correctly. However, if you plug it into a dumb USB-A charger (one that delivers 5V no matter what), then the tablet will eventually charge back up. This charging issue can be worked around, but it is somewhat annoying (since most of my chargers are intelligent USB-C PD chargers). I took off a star for this problem.

The tablet uses android GO
Since The tablet uses android GO, instead of full android it won’t run the software (app) I purchased it for so I will probably return it. If its not to much a pain to do it. I don’t like returns I wish it was clear in the description. The tablet does work. But just like the Amazon fire tablets you don’t have access to the full Google store.

It’s cheap but know what you’re getting
This is probably my 10th tablet purchase and I’ve had some of the best power tablets and a few budget tablets with this one being on the bottom. I needed a small display to only run a home assistant dashboard. I didn’t have any expectations that this tablet was going to be a good device to play any games or even just browse the web. It works well for my dashboard and I tested a few browsing sessions for this review.Review:This tablet runs Android Go 12. Android Go is a stripped down version of Android and is for ultra budget devices. The last security update was April 5th, 2021. The latest version is 13. So be aware that you’re tablet is not secure. I wouldn’t use this tablet to sign into too accounts and definitely not use any credit cards or personal information. This is why I knocked off 1 star. The display is 7 inches. That is measured diagonally. I measured it and it is 6 7/8″ .Setting it up is painfully slow. About 15 minutes. Downloading apps is also very slow. About 5 minutes to download and install home assistant. However, I expected this at this price. After installing the app the app didn’t exhibit bad latency, but it was a little slower vs my other tablet.Surfing the web is slower than my phone (Samsung S22 ultra) by about 50 percent, but not too bad.The display is fine and brightness is actually good. It’s thick and has a large bezel. Again as expected. In summary: Outdated security. Slower than the average phone. It’s only $32. If you need a display for a dashboard this is an excellent buy. For a kid it’s fine unless you’re toddler is writing code already. For an adult to surf the web or watch video, you’ll want to spend more and get something with better performance and updated security.

Very good light browser for the price
I found this tablet to be just right for my intended use: light browsing. I rarely watch video or game on Android devices so the screen resolution, speakers, and CPU/GPU performance aren’t a big concern for me.The screen looks worse than it is because the default wallpaper has jagged lines (see blue and pink picture). In regular use it’s fine: see picture of browser image search (the blurring is due to my phone and lack of skill). It’s very light weight, as I want in a bed-browsing device. On idle, the battery charge seems to last about 10 days.Overall, I’d recommend this to someone with the same modest requirements as myself. If you want gaming or streaming you’ll probably have to pay more.
