My wife go this book so we can start a healthier lifestyle. Dr. Deng is amazing and his book reflects his deep knowledge of the subject of nutrition as well as the passion for how to create delicious and healthy meals from natural ingredients. The book is international in its cuisine as well as breaks down all herbs, spices, fruits and vegetables that are healthy for us and how to utilize them in our daily diet. My wife loves this book and how beuutifully it’s curated. As well as the organization. Buy it asap! Money well spent.

If you want healthy and delicious, this is the cookbook for you
I am a health nut, an enthusiastic gourmand and a week-end gourmet. My diet is basically what is shown on the book cover. I was intrigued by the book because it’s unusual for an oncology expert from the top cancer center of the world to write a cookbook. What I found inside were some amazing recipes combined with incredible food photography, which is both beautiful and accurate. So far, I’ve cooked three meals based on the recipes and did the green smoothie – they all tasted delicious and are obviously super healthy. Just picked up a second book for a friend who is a fan of mushrooms and the umami they bring to every dish! I can’t recommend this enough.

My Favorite Cookbook! (and I have MANY)
Thank you Dr. Deng for sharing your passion for health and cooking in this amazing book! Not only are you a compassionate and caring doctor but also a wonderful author. I have many cookbooks as well as books on nutrition, but this is my favorite. Your recommendations for a balanced diet as well as elements for health and wellness are written in a way that is easy to understand. I have been cooking for over 40 years but have learned so much from your descriptions about how to add complex flavor, why to use certain spices and ways to combine foods to maintain a healthy proportion of nutrients. I am on a low-glycemic diet and appreciate your explanation for why different cooking methods change the glycemic index of foods. You don’t only explain how to cook a dish or pair components but why, which is most important. My copy is loaded with post-it bookmarks but my favorite dishes are Baba Ghanoush, Butternut Squash Soup, Peruvian Stuffed Peppers, Stewed Chicken, Beef Stew and the Stir Fried Celery and Onions! I have already given copies as gifts to 3 friends because they kept asking for the recipes after I talked about some of the dishes! The pictures are great and even the paper has a wonderful texture. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and talent!
