A Valuable Resource for Parents and Children
As a psychologist and a parent, I am thoroughly impressed with the “Thriving with ADHD Workbook for Kids.” This book has been a fantastic tool for my 11-year-old son. The quality of the content, the friendly and accessible language, and the engaging activities all contribute to making this an excellent resource. The workbook effectively helps children self-regulate, focus, and succeed while making the process enjoyable. Itâs heartening to see my son actively participating and benefiting from the exercises. This book is an outstanding aid for helping children and their parents navigate the challenges of ADHD.

Amazing book to work with your adhd child
My child has been angry and frustrated that she is so different from everyone else. I got this workbook and we sat and worked through it together and it completely changed her perspective about her adhd and helped her realize that the it comes with struggles but also it is what gives her so many strengths. I highly recommend this book for any kid with adhd. It was a great bonding / quality time experience to go through the workbook together but it is easy enough for her to do in her own also. She is 8. For children younger than 8 you would probably want to work through it with them but it would still be very helpful.

Great Book for All Kinds of Brains
I love the exercises in this workbook for all types of learners. Theyâre also great for some supplementary tasks for educators to use in classrooms.

Very informative
We have not finished the book, my son loves the fact that it constantly reminds him that he is not alone. The intro and reading is pretty long, my son ofc has ADHD so I had to help him to get through the intro because of his attention deficit. So far we like the book!

My daughter loves it
My young daughter (7yo) has had a lot of anxiety with her newly discovered ADHD even beforw we realized that was what it was. Her symptomswere quite different from that of other kids ao it took us going to a counselor to realize that’s what it was. She recommended this book and I found the accompanying parent book which I haven’t started yet, and this book has given her a refreshed sense of readiness and willingness to get on track for the day or when she’s just feeling bored or off. The activities have captured her interest and she is excited to do them! They’re fun and I think give a great break from the mundane to get out some energy or frustration so her mind can settle down to focus.

My 10 Year Old LOVES this book
I got this book for my daughter to use as a tool for her ADHD/ADD and Anxiety combined, particularly in school where she has the most issues. I must say it is beautifully illustrated, written and published. The language is easy to understand and my 5th grader had no problem navigating the book by herself. This is about the 3rd workbook I brought of the 100s I researched and it has by far been the best. I love the positive and empowering tone of the book. The activities engage the child, builds understanding, skills, self awareness and consciousness. I left in on kitchen counter and by the time I went to tell my daughter about it she had already picked it up, looked through it and was looking forward to working on it. We have done some pages together but she is able to self guide and direct herself. If she is in school and struggling she finds the section related to her current issue and either completes the pages or reviews them. It has helped her focus better just in that she wants to get her class work done so that she can use the free time to work on the Workbook. She has already asked for a second one to refill once she complete this one. To be honest as an adult the struggle with ADHD/ADD combined I almost want to get a copy for myself. I would recommend this book to anyone that ha a child with ADHD or ADD, especially if that child is struggling with the self image from it. This book will definitely empower them.

This is not only a helpful workbook for kids with ADHD, its a great communication and bonding tool
I absolutely love this workbook. My 10 year old suffers from ADHD, and unfortunately I do as well so it is harder for me to read through ADHD books for adults to figure out how I can help him.The book starts with an explanation of what ADHD is and what it means, all written in a language that kids really understand. It is a very positive explanation of ADHD so kids don’t feel like they are dumb or there is something bad about this.It also goes into the types of ADHD with some characteristics of each type and a cute nickname for each type. I had fun talking through them with my son- I compared it to the different houses of Harry Potter- which house is he in?We then started into the activities which included a checklist of ADHD attributes. It got my son to really open up to me and talk through some of the difficulties that he goes through and also feel like he is not alone in this. Some of the difficulties he was having made him feel like a failure. Now he knows that millions of kids have this and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!Normally, my conversations with my 10 year old are just about how his day was and we cover really surface level topics. This book has enabled me to dig down deeper with my child to have more meaningful conversations and bond with him.I highly recommend this book, in fact I can’t recommend it enough. If you have a child with ADHD, buy this book!

Not for an 11 Year Old
First, I must say I do like this book. However, my son thought it was too “kidish”. I could see this working with 6-9 years old. Maybe 10, but no age past that unless they are delayed. It did have a great kid explanation for what ADHD is and how that makes you different but not in a bad way. It has SHORT quizes and such to assess your type of ADHD, what symptoms you have, activities to build self-esteem in the child, tips for learning how to do well in school and other areas of life. For a younger child, I would highly recommend this book.

An excellent book. Lot of ideas to pass on to children with ADHD. The book is written from main for children with ADHD to read. Though I appreciate the approach, it is exceedingly difficult to get my child (I am assuming) or any child with ADHD to read anything that they are not 100% interested in. If you can congratulations and I am sure the children will get a lot from this.I went through the checklist with me, which he found entertaining, picking off hus own traits and trying solutions. There is a lot of information and encouragement to take from this book as a parent, carer, or teacher. The one way this book format did not work in the Kindle edition is that it is not possible to write in the book, but pen and paper are always an option, so there are no real complaints.Empathy is something that is brought up in this book. With Kelli Miller’s background and family dynamic, she knows what parents, carers, and teachers need to know and hear. Believe me, parents need encouragement and to know their struggles are not unique. Lots of activities to implement and strategies to get kids to try. It’s definitely worth reading.

As a parent it can be difficult sometimes in the day to day chaos to remember children with ADHD donât function the same as those without. With this book not only did my child begin to understand themselves but as a parent it also gave insight and served as a reminder that, yes there are differences, those differences can be managed so that they are not resulting in negativity.Additionally I would highly recommend the âanger management for kidsâ workbook in this series. It is an absolute must especially as many children with ADHD tend to struggle in regulating this particular emotion.
