Works with Alexa
I was nervous about getting these devices because it talked about the Matter hub. Totally unnecessary. Plug it in. Goto the Alexa app and choose + add device. The only tricky part is that you scroll to the bottom of the device types and choose Other and on the next screen choose Matter. The rest is simple simple. No other apps needed. Enabled directly through the Alexa app. Works as expected!! Strongly recommend.

Wide compatibility and easy setup
Because these plugs are matter compatible, thereâs a wide compatibility with different hubs or Wi-Fi apps.My favorite part of using these smart plugs is that theyâre small. They donât block two outlets when you have it plugged in.They seem to respond a lot faster than my other TP link plugs that are not matter compatible. My only complaint, and this is a really small complaint, is that if Iâm operating the switch with the button on the side of it, I have to push a little harder than I would expect to get it to turn on or off. Like I said, thatâs a really small complaint and certainly wouldnât stop me from getting more of these.

Died but support brought it back to life
It was easy to setup and worked fine for two months after which it stopped responding. I was able to restart it but lost it upon moving the plug’s location. I called support and they had me hold the button down for more than 10 seconds (online I found 6 seconds). Both lengths of time produced the flashing but holding the button for longer (I have gone to 20 seconds) more reliably rebooted the plug and got it working again. I do not know why it suddenly stopped working. I suppose a final rating will depend on how often this happens.

Easy setup and easy to use
Set up to control lights for 82 year old aunt on her iPhone SE. Took her just a few minutes to see how it works and she uses them daily…leaves her lights on until bedtime then shuts them all off at once. Woke up thought she heard a noise so she turned all lights on from her bed. Works perfectly and is simple to use.

They DO work without internet!
For those that are wondering, these smart switches will operate on your local WiFi network even if your internet goes down. Very big plus for me as I live in an area where the internet is always getting knocked out by landslides. The switches can also be activated by Tapo security cameras so if you wanted to have a bright flood light come on at night if one or more of your Tapo cameras detect a person or vehicle or pet, etc, then you can easily configure that right in the app! I actually I use one of the switches to do just that. Speaking of the app, it is nicely laid out and intuitive to use and you can customize the layout to your liking, this is coming from someone who has been using the Wyze app for many years and the move from the Wyze app to the Tapo app was no problem at all. I use two of the Tapo switched for Electonic devices that are mounted in hard-to-reach places, this makes it easy to reboot said devices right from the app or setup automations to automatically reboot a device when needed. I give them 5 stars as they work as expected and even work if the internet goes down. I will update this review after I have had time to see how they perform over time. Hope this review helps someone in their buy decision.

Very Easy to add to Hubitat via Alexa (for initial commissioning). Don’t need Tapo app
While I’ve got a zillion smart devices, this was my first venture with Matter. In fact, I bought this plug simply because it was cheap and I wanted to get experience with Matter devices.Proved exceptionally easy to install. First, forget about the brief instructions that come with the plug. And, no need for the Tapo app they want you to download and start with.I just plugged the device in (near an Echo 4thGen device) and used the “+” in the Alexa app to add a new device. When prompted, said it was a Matter device, give it a name, and, again, when prompted, provided Alexa with a shot of the QR code unique to the plug. (That QR code sits on a loose bit of paper somewhere in the box; I peeled mine off and stuck it to the plug.). Done: commissioned and added to Alexa. To add it to Hubitat: while still in Alexa, go to the device, and hit the upper-right “*” to get to settings for the device. Choose add a new service. Alexa provides a lengthy code with a button that let’s you copy it to your clipboard. Then, switch to the Hubitat app. In the Hubitat app, go to Devices>Add Devices. Make sure Matter is enabled (if it’s not, Matter button will be greyed out, and you will see a link on that Add Devices page that will let you enable Matter). Still on Hubitat’s Add Devices screen, select Matter as the device type. Hubitat opens a box where you can paste the previously copied code. Hit return and wait a few beats for Hubitat to do it’s thing. Provide a name and room it you wish. Then you are done.

No tuve problemas para sincronizar los conectores a mi teléfono, ni a mi sistema alexa. Recomiendo primero darlos de alta en la app de tapo y pasarlos después a alexa.
