Reliable Long-Range Connections: The Tapo Hub operates on a lower frequency broadband, resulting in fewer signal interferences and ensuring stable connectivity for all your devices throughout your home. With a maximum connection distance of up to 30m, the Tapo Hub outperforms wireless network systems in the 2.4 GHz band. Our internal laboratory tests confirm the coverage and range of the Tapo Hub, but keep in mind that actual results may vary depending on environmental conditions.
A Low-Power Way to Connect Everything- The Tapo Hub serves as the central hub for your Tapo smart home, linking smart sensors, switches, and buttons via an ultra-low power wireless protocol. This technology extends the battery life of devices by up to 10 times, in contrast to devices powered by the Wi-Fi protocol.
Smart Action- With Tapo Smart Hub H100, you can trigger a Shortcut or control Tapo devices (such as smart plugs, smart lights and smart switches) based on sensor detection or with a button press. (Tapo H100 cannot directly connect to Tapo smart plugs or smart lighting, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is required.)
All Devices in One Hub- Each Tapo Hub can connect up to 64 Tapo devices throughout your home. Build and manage your smart home ecosystem with ease.
Protect Your Home Day and Night- By integrating with Tapo motion sensors, door/window sensors, and other devices, the Tapo Hub can activate a high-decibel siren (up to 90 dB) to alert of potential hazards or discourage intruders.

Works great
Edit: Looks like geofencing was turned on in the Tapo app today :)I have always liked Kasa products for my smart home. In the past I was not able to find good motion, humidity and temperature sensors for the Google Home side of things. I think this Tapo line is fairly new and i only noticed it recently, however, the Tapo line appears to fill in some holes that existed in their lineup.Important note, this device does require a Tapo hub, sold separately.I have a bunch of quite old Kasa bulbs and switches that were integrated in the old Kasa app. I was worried that this new Tapo app would not talk to the legacy Kasa app but that worry was unfounded. The Kasa app and the Tapo app linked to each other seamlessly. I can see all my legacy devices now in the Tapo app and it brought over all my automations. Connecting the motion sensor to the Tapo app was straightforward.Important exception, the Tapo app doesn’t have geo-fencing yet. So be aware if that’s a major selling point for you it isn’t enabled in Tapo, yet.The motion sensor works pretty much the way you would expect. It’s quite sensitive, I can activate it just by waving my hand at it from 10 feet away. It also comes with a stick on pad and a nifty ball and socket connection that lets you aim it just the way you need. It’s a nicely implemented little motion sensor. On a side note, I used to have all kinds of issues with my smart devices and recently I specifically created, on my router, a separate AP that only uses 2.4ghz. Then when I connect devices that require 2.4ghz I use that AP (I named it router2.4 to make it easy to identify). I recommend that and most routers support doing it.

Indispensable for tracking and stopping rodent activity
Rats are smart. The only advantage we have over them is technology. We have a large house (6000 sq ft) and were getting rats in the attic. I can’t even calculate how many professionals and dollars and hours were used trying to find out how they were coming and going. What finally worked was getting several of these and tracking when and where their activity started. Using SmartThings automation, I could get an SMS to track their every move as well as record the data to a Google Sheets spreadsheet. Being nocturnal, we looked for where their first activity and last activity of the night were in order to determine their entry/exit points. Then we could put cameras in those hot spots to get even more information about their behavior. Spoiler alert – turns out we did have them trapped, but they were surviving off the HVAC condensation for water and eating each other for food. During the day they would hide in inaccessible places of the attic (due to a low pitch roof). Anyway, this intelligence finally gave us the edge to win the war. Armed with a 22 with a thermal and night vision scopes, we were able to snipe the stragglers by following their digital footprints. These Tapo motion sensors provided a solution that was affordable, easy to set up, and relocatable (due to magnets).

Damaged on arrival, but functionally good
4 items damaged exactly the same way, manufacturing defects?I bought 4 of these, all 4 arrived in brand new perfectly sealed boxes. But strangely all 4 have the exact same crack at the exact same position, 3 oâclock of the motion sensor dome.Since all 4 have the same damage I donât know if exchanging the items would change anything. All 4 can accurately detect motion and trigger events in Tapo app, so it appears that the crack is not interfering with the function. For now they function as they should so Iâm keeping them.Check your purchase to see if you have the same crack.Update:I bought a fifth one, same crack at same position. No quality control? But they do function as expected.

Works great and speed of sending signal is excellent
Always thought I dont need a hub as it was one more thing plugged in to use electricity. Buying this actually saved money as the other sensors I was using went through batteries so fast it was worse than paying the electric bill. I did not realise it but it is matter enabled so I was able to add everything on it to my apple home which is a big plus. Now I can do smart actions on both Alexa and Siri no need for Siri shortcuts to use my phone. It actually has chime for when the actions such a motion detection or the door opens. Excellent product and my entire smart home now feels even smarter using the hub.

Says Connection Is Not Secure
I have had trouble linking to this with my cell phone. My phone also reports that this would be an insecure connection.

Very Simple Setup
The Tapo app makes it surprisingly easy to set up the hub. It’s much smaller than I expected based on photos, which is an added bonus.I got the hub and the T300 water leak sensor, which was again effortless to add with the Tapo app. If there’s a water alarm, it will alert at the sensor, the hub, and my phone. I particularly like that I can locate the hub where I’m most likely to hear it if there’s an alarm.

Closet Door Auto Light
We had pull tab lights in our closet, and looked at other options that didn’t work. (without hardwiring a switch) this was a cheaper and easier solution.I have it setup with the Tapo light bulb and Tapa Door Sensor to auto turn on when the closet sliding door opens. Also put them in my hallway closets. There is a milliseconds delay, but still quicker than having to pull the light string before.Only issue I have had, if you open and close the door too quick (as in a few seconds), it won’t detect the switch and the light will stay on/off. Quick fix it either use the app to shut it off or just open the door quick again to reverse it :). This has only happen half a dozen times, and usually with the kids.Does require Tapo Hub.

Great addition to a tapo/kasa smart home setup.
Iâve set it up to gradually turn the lights up as it senses movement on the way to the bathroom and itâs much nicer than a full blast light in your eyes when you use the bathroom at night. Can be used to trigger lights, smart power sockets. I only hope a program I use for interactivity with other smart ecosystems (IFTT) will add support for these sensors soon.

I bought it for door sensors, they work well, just as described.

Added the Tapo smart hub to my home to control my Tapo door sensors.Installation took 5 minutes. It was so simple.I created an automation so that I can “arm” my house when away. If the door sensor goes off the hub emits a siren sound to deter theft. My only gripe is that I wish the speaker on the hub was a bit louder, but it does the trick for my needs.Tapo is the best. Get this!

I am a hard person to impress BUT these Tapo products are amazing. First off make sure you have a Tapo Hub or motion sensor will NOT work! I have Kasa products all over my house and I am so glad Tapos app integrates with kasa devices easily! I needed this motion sensor to turn on some lights and kasa did not offer a motion sensor option? Tapo motion sensor s are great! Very quick response time and what makes them great is the amazing app. Alot of work went into this user friendly app.I am 60 years old and could figure it out easily I highly recommend Kasa and Tapo devices for your home Great products
