Loving this smart thermostat!!
I recently installed the Vine Thermostat for my home, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. The touchscreen color display is both sleek and intuitive, making it easy to navigate through the settings. I particularly appreciate the 7-day programmable feature, which allows me to customize the temperature for different times of the day, maximizing energy efficiency.Integration with Alexa and Google Assistant works seamlessly, enabling me to adjust the temperature with voice commands. The design is modern, and the 2.8″ screen size is just rightâclear and easy to read from a distance. Overall, this thermostat has significantly improved my homeâs energy management, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enhance their smart home experience!!

Useful smart features, and great customer support.
As a smart thermostat it works pretty good. You can remotely see what are current conditions, adjust settings, configure schedules, configure auto cool/heat (if temperature drops to this minimum, start heating; if raises to this hight, start cooling; very useful for Ocala, FL), configure auto fan (even recirculation: turns on fan 10 minutes every hour, or as desired), see history of conditions and settings, etc. etc. etc.Five starts for all those features that work Ok (and sensor calibration also).Did take a start off for the forecast feature seems not to be working correctly, as that is and extra feature, and customer support responded very quickly, and have been in continuous contact requesting information and dealing with the situation. Impressive response from customer support. Will try to remember to update with the outcome later.Update: Sorry for the delay. They said that the forecast information should be updating every half an hour. I said the symbol does, but not the temperature, this one was updating far less often. They reviewed the settings first (connection, location, etc.) but that didn’t work. They requested copy of the settings and the equipment information. They sent some test steps; they received the info. They requested additional screenshots of current conditions periodically.Note that this is a long conversation, over several days; they kept in contact all the time, and referred that they were working with the situation. In the meantime I asked for some clarifications on other functionality; they responded quickly. Finally the TJ-550 received a firmware update, and boom, that did the trick, and the forecast is working correctly. They really take care of customers, and the really stand by their products. This is a beautiful equipment, and I don’t have to look for the phone to know how cold is out there, or what to expect; it is at the thermostat, right away, with the forecast symbol and the current outside temperature. It’s beautiful.I love the automatic function; it its too cold, it starts heating; if too hot, cooling. And no one can beat the price by far.Get it, you won’t regret; this is a great device with and even greater company supporting it.

My unit doesn’t work and the software is awful… but not as bad as the support
Here is my interaction with VINE support:I followed 100% of the instructions that came with the VINE thermostat. I had two issues. (1) The VINE thermostat would not enter heating mode and (2) The VINE thermostat consistently displayed temperatures that were inaccurate by anywhere from 2 to 8 degrees.; Thank you for your response. I went through each of the steps and suggestions at a great expense of time to me. I followed each suggestion.Suggestions and response.SUGGESTION: 1.Why isn’t my heating/cooling turning on?⢠Ensure the thermostat is wired correctly by following the instructions in the User ManualRESPONSE: The thermostat was set up exactly as the instructions specified. This was done even though the instructions were not well written.SUGGESTION: â You can also try to reinstall your original thermostat to make sure there is not an HVAC system issue, that is preventing the system from turning on.RESPONSE: I followed this suggestion and my heating (and cooling) worked perfectly without any special configuration on my Emerson thermostat.COMMENT/SUGGESTION(?) If your heating/cooling doesn’t come on with the original thermostat, you may need to contact a professional technician to service your equipment.RESPONSE: I thought a professional technician sent these messages. I would have like to communicate with a professional that would make such a comment. After all, I didn’t say anything about the possibility that your chips overheat causing the thermostat to read temperature to be inaccurate… or, I didn’t suggest that your professional(?) quality control people may have sent out an untested unit.SUGGESTION: ⢠Secure wire connections.RESPONSE: I ensured secure wire connections.COMMENT/SUGGESTION? â If you attempt to pull a wire, it ought to remain firmly in place and not be dislodged. Make sure the wire is all the way down and seated in the thermostat terminals. If you aren’t sure, push the paddle down and pull the wire out. Then, try to push it back into the terminal for a better fit.RESPONSE: Of course I “attempted” to pull a wire to ensure connection. I am quite sure it was connected. I have over 50 years experience with wiring and an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.COMMENT: ⢠Ensure that there is power to your HVAC system and there is no error code on your control board indicating a system issue.â If there is an error code or no power to your system, contact an HVAC professional to service your equipment.RESPONSE: Oh.. I see that your comments were meant to be explanations of your responses. Well my response is that I am now cynical. Turn the power on??? c’mon man!SUGGESTION: ⢠Reset breakers.⢠Make sure the furnace/air handler door compartments are securely screwed down and closed. If the door panels are not secure, the system will not start.RESPONSE: Please see my previous response.MY COMMENT IN CONCLUSION: The VINE 550 thermostat is not well tested. I strongly suspect that the VINE software is a fault as a thermostat is a very simple unit to design. If you have a Chief Design or Chief Technology officer this unit suggests you might need a new one. I messed around calling your “no support” telephone number and trying reasonable things that one of your end customers might try. Granted you don’t run into a majority of your client base that have extensive EE backgrounds. The VINE company should go through the 20% of the feedback that have rated your product as 1 star. And to add the final icing of insult, Amazon said you want to add a re-stocking fee. For what??? You can’t re-stock a defective unit unless of course you already know it is a software issue. So, I am a very dissatisfied customer. I don’t usually get this worked up about a product.

Good wifi Thermostat!
I like that it’s voice activated through Alexa. Also you can control from the vine and Alexa app while away. The touch screen only is touch where the buttons are otherwise it’s not truly a touch screen. Works very well otherwise and easy to control in a variety of ways! Great value for the money! Easy installation and connected easily to wifi. Size is great very compact and perfect for what I need! You’ll need a c-wire to connect this otherwise you’ll need a c- wire adapter. Mine already had a c- wire.
