Perfect gift for a guy who needs a lift!
This Mahogany cane is strong for a large person who needs a little assistance in getting up and walking. It’s a beautiful wood and color, I was tempted to keep it for myself. I gave it as a gift for my son, and he smiled; that’s all I really needed. M

Really comfortable…
I use a cane every so often when I have a bad gout attack. I used an old crook handled one I got from Goodwill but it was uncomfortable in my hand…unnatural grip, awkward. This cane feels natural and comfortable. I read reviews and recall at least one where the writer questioned that it was all wood. It is. I cut off two inches to adjust it to my height and the shaft is wooden even though in it’s finished state it shows no grain and could be of another material. Light weight, handsome, well finished, comfortable and a decent value…it is all that I wanted and hoped for in this product.

Surprisingly good cane for big people
Suprises:1. Actually made by Harvy– didn’t know they made canes in Germany, and I thought all of their canes had 250 lb max. rating.2.”Lifetime warranty”–disclosure sheet is from an Ohio company.3. Only 3/4″ thick–every other cane rated at about 300 lb or more has been 1″ or 7/8″ diameter. This 3/4″ fits more accessories and makes it lighter.4. The lightest cane I have ever had. Note that most beechwood (a hard wood) canes are lighter than metal or many other wood canes.5. In black (satin), it is very easy to repair nicks. Use any kind of black dye, and nearly any clear coat (even fingernail polish). Although beechwood canes nick less than other woods do, a metal or carbon fiber cane may show fewer nicks. This is not really a fancy cane–more of a working cane. Other types of wood finishes and woods require periodic refinishing.6. The handle seems properly attached, unlike cheap canes. The price is really nice.

It’s a dowel rod with a handle
Pros: light weight. The handle is comfortable, and the material of the shaft is easy to saw through if you need to shorten the cane (even a serrated kitchen knife would serve)Cons: the shaft is a little bendy and not straight (mid-cane rises above level a shy 1/4″ when laid flat), and its height cannot be adjusted save with a saw. Sufficient but I not sturdy. Also, the paint chips and scratches off very easilyMaterials: The shaft is a wooden dowel rod, and the removable tip is some sort of durable rubber with metal reinforcement. I believe the handle is light but solid wood. For proper support and to avoid causing additional pain/stains, you want the top of a cane’s handle at the same height as the inner crease of your wrist when you’re standing.

The third rail of stability.
Yeah. Age, time, back injuries and a raging case of osteoarthritis in my knees has left me a lot less stable than I was in my heyday. I already had a shepards hook wooden cane imported from Britain and given as a gift when I was teenager, but I live in a 4 season climate, and now that I need the cane every day, I didn’t want to expose my heirloom to rain and snow, dirt and mud. This cane is weight rated for at least 300 pounds, made of real walnut, finished beautifully, with a natural tactile grip and a sure footed pad on the foot. It has saved me from several potential tumbles since my knees decided they wanted to leave the party. This company is a good source, has good selection, and a good product that I count on every day.
