Cam v3 is the 3rd generation of Wyze’s flagship camera, Wyze Cam. Like its predecessor Wyze Cam v3 lets you see and record 1080p video right from the Wyze mobile app. New to Wyze Cam v3 is its waterproof design allowing for outdoor installation with an IP65 rating. Wyze Cam v3 also takes advantage of an all-new Starlight Sensor which allows for extreme low-light performance and shows great detail in the dark. With Wyze Cam v3’s color night viewing, night time video recording appears as if it’s day time. Outdoor power adapter sold separately.
Color night vision: An all-new Starlight Sensor records night time video in full, vivid color. The Starlight Sensor can see full color in environments up to 25x darker than traditional video cameras and the new f/1.6 aperture captures 2x more light.
Indoor/Outdoor: Wyze Cam v3 is a wired video camera with an IP65 rating so you can confidently install it outside in the rain or inside in the kids’ room. Wyze Outdoor Power Adapter (sold separately) required for outdoor use. Phone Compatibility – Android 5.0+, iOS 9.0+.
Motion & Sound detection: Wyze Cam records video when motion or sound is detected and sends an alert straight to your phone. Motion Detection Zones and custom settings allow you to adjust the sensitivity of detection or turn it off completely.
24/7 Continuous Recording: Continuous video recording with a 32GB MicroSD card (sold separately). Just insert the MicroSD into the base of the Wyze Cam and you’re all set.
IFTTT certified connect all of your different apps and devices. When you sign up for a free account, you can enable your apps and devices to work together.

I recently purchased the WYZE Cam v3 with Color Night Vision, and I must say, even though I’m not very tech-savvy, it has been a fantastic addition to my home. Setting it up was surprisingly easy, with clear instructions that guided me through every step. Does not timeout after 10 minutes on Echo Show 15
I was looking for cameras to monitor through my Echo Show 15. I like the ease of setup right out of the box. The night vision mode with black and white or color is nice. I babysit my grandkids and use these cameras as a baby monitor, playroom monitor and an entryway/living room monitor. I had the Zmodo mini cameras prior, but they have stopped linking to my Echo. Then I purchased the Ring indoor (2nd gen) and they timed out after 10 minutes on my Echo, which is not ideal if youâre using them for the same purpose as I am. Wish I had known that prior to purchase. I am very happy with these so far as they do everything I was looking for. If anything changes I will update my review.Update: Didnât last long before they also didnât work with my Echo show 15. The echo show 15 tells me that the cameras are not responding, but yet they will be on my phone and on the computer so itâs got to do with the echo show. I have found viewing them on the computer is the best way other than my phone. You just have to sign in on the website and thereâs no problems at all unless you have a problem with your Internet obviously. I have also tried connecting them to my echo show eight and they did not work as well.

Reliable camera
My family and I have used Wyze cameras for years. We have had good experiences with them and they have been reliable. I would give 5-stars, but am taking a star off since Wyze now only gives a snapshot for motion events with their free option. We have the annual membership so we get actual video replays, but this isn’t possible without purchasing the Cam Plus membership. Overall I would recommend, if planning to subscribe to Wyze’s monthly or annual plan.Pros: reliable, reasonably priced, easy to setup and use, clear, can record continuously with microSD cardCons: now need monthly or annual subscription for automatic cloud video recording

2 and 1/2 years and still going strong
I would like to get another of these cams but some reviews make it seem like they arenât what they used to be. I use the v3 for outside to watch my granddaughter play. The vision is very clear both day and night with a wide view, all the way down an entire city block. I actually recorded a car theft on the sd card at night. I donât use any cloud storage, only the SD card which lasts about 4 days on the size that I have. Itâs great for finding which neighbor got my âdelivered package â. I rewind on the app to the time they said it was delivered. Found my deliveries at several different addresses.The camera works fine with Alexa. There was a time when it failed to work and it took forever for Amazon or Wyze to get it together but no problems for over a year now. I sometimes get an error message from Alexa saying thereâs a problem with not being able to connect but when I try again it connects fine. I only use the cam for viewing on demand, I donât leave it up forever, just as needed. Alexa does tend to drop the connection after a while but I usually stay connected long enough for me to see when my food delivery arrives. Itâs the important things. I just talked myself into getting another. I can always return it like I did with the OG model which I didnât like at all, trying to save a buck.UPDATE 11/21/24 – all cameras still working. Live view is still clear and visible both day and night on the 2 outside cams. I still don’t have a subscription as I don’t have a need for it. No interruptions or issues when using with the Alexa Shows. The SD cards haven’t had to be viewed and for the price I can view live from anywhere on my phone. If I needed better security or sound quality I would invest in a more advanced camera but the WYZE cams are all I need.
