Great as a BYO Phone
I got this for my husband’s mother to use. She is disabled and uses wheelchair, so she lives in an assisted location. We try and see her regularly but with kids it can be hard, so we got this for her to be able to facetime more often, instead of just calling. The phone itself is a very nice Android smartphone with all the expected features and ability to install apps etc. We got it setup with a really cheap voice and data plan because she has WiFi in the facility so won’t need to use data unless outside or traveling etc. My husband preferred this type phone so we could get service with whatever carrier would be affordable and provide best service in her area, instead of getting from a carrier. Also it can be easily maintained by us, the battery can be easily replaced for example. As a smartphone it offers all the features she could need. We took it to her today and visited, and showed her how to answer and access the features for calling us etc. She was so very excited, my husband even went out to the car and called her so she could practice and she was very happy with it. It is easy for her to hold and the screen is clear to see and she can operate it with no problems. For us this was a perfect solution to keep the family close, even when things are too hectic to visit often.
