Yaktrax Pro Traction Cleats instantly provide better traction, confidence and safety for walking, jogging, or hiking on packed snow or ice. Pro Traction Cleats fit over shoes and are secured with a durable rubber strap that ensures an excellent fit. Traction is provided by a shaped-edge coil design that provides unequaled stability on ice and snow, letting users move about naturally with the same solid grip as on dry surfaces. Yaktrax Pro Traction Cleats are made of high-strength, abrasion and rust-resistant 1.4 mm steel coils and heavy-duty natural rubber to help the cleats easily conform to the shape of any boot or shoe. Multiple coil angles provide 360 degrees of traction on cold surfaces for stability in all directions. Because Yaktrax Pro Traction cleats have been tested in temperatures as low as -41 degrees Fahrenheit, they can be worn in a variety of environments, from icy Wisconsin streets to packed-snow trails in wintery woods. Yaktrax Pro Traction Cleats are available in small, medium, large, and extra-large sizes to fit most shoes: Small (fits shoe size W6.5-10, M5-8.5); Medium (fits shoe size W10.5-12.5, M9-11); Large (fits shoe size W13-15, M11.5-13.5); X-Larger (fits shoe size W15.5+, M 14+). For oversized shoes or boots, Yaktrax recommends purchasing one size larger than your normal shoe size.

Do you walk on snow or ice regularly? Get these.
My first winter in a state where snow exists, I tried to walk around with running shoes, and about faceplanted four or five times. After that, I did some research and Yaktrax constantly came up as a solution. After an entire winter of walking to work and being oblivious to traction requirements (along with one instance of winter hiking), I would heartily recommend these. Unless you’re stepping on sheer ice, you can walk anywhere with near impunity. They slip a little when your toe comes off the ground and you move forward to transfer weight to your other foot, but it’s immaterial because that foot isn’t supporting weight at that point. They are fantastic for walking in snow/ice.I would caution against using them for jogging/running, for the very reason above. They have no serious tip of the toe traction, so they will often slip on that motion. Not a problem when walking (other foot has got you covered) but when running you spend some time in the air not supported by either foot, and a slip there can cause a drastic loss of balance. Yaktrax does make running specific ones, but I cannot vouch for their efficacy. If you use them regularly, these will last slightly less than a season. The metal coils wear down surprisingly quickly, but this is somewhat true of any product that you put your full weight on all the time. By the end of winter I was crimping and bending the busted coils with pliers to make them last until spring/summer. If you live in a perpetually snowbound area, they may not even make it through half of winter… so get two pairs. The irony of Yaktrax is that while they increase your traction on many surfaces (concrete, snow, ice, etc.) they drastically reduce it on several indoor surfaces. On tile I have had to brace myself on one or two walls to prevent crashing to the ground. Works well enough on carpet, but after wear hits the coils, they will snag and stick in the carpet, making it even worse to walk on. Bring another pair of shoes to use for indoor use, or be prepared to take the Yaktrax off and on repeatedly. They are not easy to quickly remove or add to shoes (unless you are more nimble than me and that is a very low bar). The short version is: Do you live in a place where winter occurs in short intervals? These will work well. Do you live in a place where Winter is a constant fact of life? You probably already have a solution.Either way, if you can afford the expense (and they’re not that pricey), you can stroll around during Winter with impunity.

Great product!
I am a big fan of Yaktrax: two pairs and used for 5 years. They are easy to put on and take off, provide great traction on ice and donât seem to wear out. In winter, I keep one pair on my hiking boots and one pair on snow boots. They always work great. I take them off the hiking boots to snowshoe and when I am done, they are easy to put on again. No more falling on the ice! These are a great product!

It’s very helpful
I got these mostly for doing farm chores when it’s icy and slippery out. The amount of improvement is AMAZING. Instead of losing my footing, I am able to walk normally without danger of slipping or falling. This product does NOT give you the ability to walk on sheer ice up a slope without any danger, but it significantly reduces the risk of falling. It doesn’t help in slush (unsurprisingly) since there’s nothing solid for the traction to catch. Even in the barn or on hay bales, I was very pleasantly surprised that they did not make it harder to walk on non-slow/ice surfaces. I was able to easily walk in the barn and the hay loft without increased danger or difficulty. They seem to be relatively durable, although even if I had to buy a new pair every year (which is a definite possibility), it would be well worth it for my situation. The downsides are: It’s a pain to put them on and off repeatedly. This does not bother me, because i only use my chore boots for that one purpose, so I rarely have to take them on and off. For older people, it would be difficult to take these on and off.Do not walk with these on very hard surfaces, as they will wear off the traction, and don’t walk with these on surfaces that you care gets damaged. They work by cutting into surfaces, so don’t wear them on any surface that you care gets damaged. After about a month of having no issues with them, one came off when I was doing chores, and I didn’t remember to put it back on right away. What a difference! One of my feet was sliding around and I had to constantly catch myself or monitor how carefully I was walking. The other foot was walking normally without a problem because it still had the cleat on. :POverall, it has its limitations, but has been a wonderful product for me.

I use these whenever the weather is slippery or if there is fresh snow with ice underneath. They work beautifully and I haven’t once slipped. (touch wood, lol) They are tight to put on but stay put. They really are a must for me now because they allow me to go for walks in all weather and help keep me safe.
