Economical and Easy to Install with Great Customer Service
I purchased the Martin Jerry Smart Switch to replace a battery-operated switch timer that actually moved the wall switch up and down – great idea but past its time. It arrived quickly and the instructions were clear. The switch itself seems well-made and the 4 wires coming from it had wire nuts attached and were clearly labeled. I had some trouble with installation, with which customer service was very helpful (the problem turned out to have nothing to do with the switch or wi-fi, just my own stupidity; it is KEY that all neutral wires in the electrical box itself – the white ones – are touching both the smart switch wire AND each other), but while I was waiting for the electrician to come and tell me that, I contacted customer service to see if they could offer any help and they responded quickly and offered to send me another switch to try out. Instead, I installed the switch in another location to make sure it was working and that I could connect it to my network and Google Home, which was a snap with the SmartLife app I use on my other smart plugs in the house, very easy!.It’s now up and running in the location I wanted it for, and I’m going to purchase another for another room.I assume it’s as easy to connect to Alexa as to the Google Home. Some tips for installation:1. although the electrician didn’t do it, I would recommend turning the power off to the switch at the breaker box to be safe, and invest in an inexpensive voltage tester just to make sure no juice is going to the wires in the box.2. the white wire from the switch goes with the white wires that are probably pushed in the back of the electrical box and aren’t usually used for a single-pole light switch. MAKE SURE THEY ARE ALL TOUCHING EACH OTHER and the wire from the switch.3. The green wire goes to the bare copper (or might be green) ground wire(s), also pushed in the back of the box.4. The black and brown wires are a bit trickier – one is the LIVE (or line) and one is the LOAD. In simplest terms, the LINE (or LIVE) wire is the one coming from the breaker box and the LOAD wire is the one going to the fixture. It’s sometimes pretty easy to tell when you look at the side of the box each wire is coming from but not always. You might need to try both.5. Turn the power back on before pushing the switch into the box and screwing it in, in case you need to swap the black/brown wires, and test the switch.6. When the switch works by pressing on it, turn the power off again and finish the installation and attach the switchplate, which snaps on.7. Use the SmartLife App to find the switch (little light on the bottom of the switch should be flashing blue) and add it to your system.DONE.

Works Great with Zigby2mqtt and Home Assistant
These are high quality wall switches that work great with my Home Assistant and Zigbee2mqtt with a Conbee III. If you’re looking for simple switches, these are great. Easy to connect, no outside software needed if using zigbee2mqtt. I’ve tried 5 different brands now and these so far have been the simplest, with no cloud or internet needed and extremely reliable.

Not bad for price but clearly cost cutting was done
Updated:Can no longer recommend after 4 months I was really happy with the first switch I installed, With that said I finally installed the second one with in two days of installing the 2nd switch the first switch died.To be fair when I made my first review I was offered a refund but didn’t feel comfortable expecting it as I was still intending to use them. now I regret nit taking the refund and i am going to see if I can get a refund or warranted replacement.Old reviewLooking for a quick and easy switch to convert your out dated switch to a smart integration this is a good option. My biggest problem is that it comes with no installation hardware and is a zigbee end device. Will update if something changes.Pros:⢠Works with home assistant.â¢Easy to installâ¢Easy to pair with zigbeeâ¢Includes but dose not require neutral wireCons:â¢It is a button instead of a switchâ¢Makes loud switching sound when usedâ¢Flimsy feelâ¢Does not come with mounting screws or faceplateâ¢Found that is you tighten to box to much the switch will retain power but the switch won’t activateâ¢Despite it having continued power it is an zigbee end device

Decent switch
To start out with this “looks” like a rocker switch but it is not, you turn it on and off by pressing the bottom of the switch. The size of the switch is pretty good, it fit in a single gang w/no problem, the screw down terminals are nice. The biggest issue I have with the switch, is that a standard cover does not seem to fit over it, There’s about 1/8″ of an inch gap between the plate and the wall.Integration with Smart Life was easy and if you enable the skill on Alexa it will see the switch automatically. In my house the switches control only one socket in one outlet so I needed a switch that could control other smart lights in the room. Their tech support told me it couldn’t be done but they were wrong. If you have the gateway and Smart Life bulbs you can pair everything with the gateway and create a scene that turns any paired smart light on and off with the switch. One caveat is that at least one of the smart bulbs needs to be plugged into the outlet controlled by the switch, the other is if you tell Alexa to turn the switch on or off, only the light connected to the switch will respond. I have a few other rooms I need to replicate this setup in a few other rooms, because of the way it fits on the wall, I’m not sure if I’m going to purchase more.

Successfully converted to Tasmota OTA. Applied the MJ-S01 template. Integrated in my MQTT setup + Node-RED, works like a charm! Best of both world: Martin Jerry cloud for non-technical people, able to convert to Tasmota OTA for people like me!

I bought my first Martin Jerry Switch that I installed in my kitchen for pendant lights over the island. The switch is well made and it was very easy to install. My wife was happy because now she can use her phone to change the brightness to her liking. Because it worked so well, I bought a second switch to control the ceiling pot lights. We are very happy with this product.

Purchased a pack of 4 installed them all, unfortunately only 2 functioned correct.I asked Amazon for 2 replacements the only option they gave is to send them all back then receive a refund then reorder another set and reinstall.I will use the tp link in the future as I have had good success with them.I tried to contact the company but never received any response.
