The shunt resistors offer low resistance, high power ratings, and minimal temperature shift, making them useful for automotive, energy, industrial, and space applications.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has introduced a new series of AEC-Q200 qualified Power Metal Strip shunt resistors with an industry-low TCR of ±10 ppm/°C. The Vishay Dale WSBE series is designed for automotive, energy, industrial, and space applications, offering low resistance values down to 15 µΩ and power ratings up to 50 W.
The series shunt resistors are used by automotive manufacturers in battery management systems (BMS) for EVs and HEVs, as well as charging infrastructure. They are also used in the energy sector for monitoring, battery systems, and metering applications. Industrial equipment manufacturers use them in UPS backup, motor drives, and power tools. Aerospace and space agencies use them in satellite and space power systems. OEMs and electronics engineers integrate them into current sensing solutions with reduced temperature compensation needs, making them useful for applications requiring current measurement with minimal resistance shift.

The WSBE series is used for current measurement in battery management systems (BMS), eliminating the need for temperature sensing and software calibration. It supports EV and HEV charging infrastructure, including golf carts and motorcycles, as well as energy monitoring, battery systems, UPS backup, industrial inverters, and satellites.
The low TCR is achieved through a solid metal resistive element and patented TCR mitigation technology, reducing the need for temperature compensation. This simplifies calibration to a two-point process, minimizes compensation software, and reduces component count, leading to space savings, lower costs, and improved accuracy.
Available in 8518 and 8536 case sizes, WSBE series resistors use a proprietary processing technique to achieve extremely low resistance. With high power ratings and 1% lifetime stability, they can handle up to 1825 A without significant resistance shift.
Built with an all-welded construction, these resistors offer low inductance (<5 nH), low thermal EMF (<1.25 µV/°C), and an operating temperature range of -65 °C to +170 °C. They are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green.
