With advanced calibration, fast measurement speeds, and seamless connectivity, it supports emerging automotive radar and satellite communication technologies.

Rohde & Schwarz expands its portfolio with the launch of the R&S NRP140TWG(N) thermal power sensor, setting a new benchmark for F band applications. Designed for precise RF power measurements in the 90 GHz to 140 GHz range, the sensor features a WR 8 waveguide connector, ensuring reliable performance for various industries, including automotive radar, satellite communications (SatCom), and RF testing.
The key features include:

- Dynamic range: –35 dBm to +20 dBm
- Frequency range: DC to 170 GHz
- Control and monitoring via USB and LAN (R&S®NRPxxTN/TWGN only)
- Outstanding performance for reference applications
- Excellent impedance matching
Building on the success of the R&S NRP170TWG, the first D band thermal power sensor, the NRP140TWG(N) brings the company’s expertise to the F band. It offers 500 measurements per second, providing fast, precise, and traceable RF power readings. Fully calibrated and temperature-compensated within 0°C to +50°C, the sensor ensures long-term stability and resilience against environmental variations.
With the automotive industry exploring higher frequencies for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles, the R&S NRP140TWG(N) supports upcoming radar technologies. Additionally, as satellite communication systems shift to higher frequencies, leading aerospace companies are already integrating the sensor into their development and testing processes.
The R&S NRP140TWG(N) is a plug-and-play solution, offering USB and LAN connectivity for easy integration into research, development, and production environments. Engineers benefit from stable, low-power-level measurements, superior drift performance, and robustness against temperature fluctuations and out-of-band signals.
In collaboration with Germany’s Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and other European NMIs, Rohde & Schwarz ensures full NMI traceability up to 140 GHz, making the NRP140TWG(N) the only metrology-grade RF power sensor in the F band. The R&S NRP140TWG(N) thermal power sensor is now available from Rohde & Schwarz, providing a solution for precision RF power measurements.
