Versatile MCU For Control And Touch

Infineon Technologies AG has launched the PSOC 4100T Plus, a microcontroller based on the Arm Cortex-M0+ core. This new MCU includes 128K Flash, 32K SRAM, and Infineon’s Multi-Sense technology, which supports CAPSENSE, inductive sensing, and liquid level sensing. It combines strong analog and digital features and is designed for reliable performance in system control and human-machine interface (HMI) applications.

When used for touch interfaces, the PSOC 4100T Plus offers different sensing features. It can detect touch or proximity using capacitive sensing. It can also detect touch through metal surfaces with inductive sensing. The chip has machine learning for liquid level sensing and can detect touch through air gaps using hover touch technology.

The PSOC 4100T Plus is great for different applications. In home appliances, it offers high reliability. It includes protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD) and a precise internal oscillator. It also has advanced touch features that help make designs simpler and cheaper.

In consumer electronics, the PSOC 4100T Plus improves touch interface designs. It uses the latest capacitive sensing technology, which gives high signal quality and low power use. Its waterproof design makes it reliable for use in outdoor environments.

For touchpad and touchscreen applications, the PSOC 4100T Plus provides high-resolution finger tracking. It supports up to 32 sensor inputs and can handle up to 256 touch points. For example, it can be used in an 80mm x 80mm touchpad or a 4-inch touchscreen with multi-touch support.
